Say Hello to New Student Trustee Jenn Galinato

We are please to announce that SCC Panther Jenn Galinato has been installed as the new Student Trustee at the June 9 Los Rios Board of Trustees meeting. Jenn is a triple major in business administration and management, communications and marketing, and pre-law at SCC. She is a passionate advocate for all Los Rios students.

Healthy Mind, Healthy Body

TimelyMD, which provides no-cost telehealth services for SCC students through SCC Telehealth, will be offering free virtual TimelyCare guided meditation and yoga sessions to students this summer!

Shakespeare Festival is Back!

We are excited to announce the return of the beloved Sacramento Shakespeare Festival at SCC after an unprecedented year’s absence.

Last year was the only summer since 1966 that the festival did not produce a show. In 2021, the festival returns with what is arguably Shakespeare’s most powerful and influential work, "Hamlet." Be sure to get your tickets!

New Handshake Intro Video

Handshake is a powerful career exploration and recruitment tool that can help all Los Rios students and alumni find employment, internships, and volunteer opportunities. There is a new video that offers a brief introduction to the program and helps students get started. Please share the video with students so they can take advantage of Handshake.

Passing of a Colleague

It is with great sadness we share that retired Financial Aid Supervisor Patricia Maga has passed away.

Maga had a long history at Los Rios. She was hired in August 1975 and served more than 32 years until her retirement in 2008. She served several positions in financial aid, as well as interim positions as Dean of Student Services/Enrollment.

Our thoughts are with her family, friends and colleagues.

President Gutierrez's Office Hour

President Michael Gutierrez will hold office hours on the second Thursday of each month during the summer, from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. Upcoming office hours will be held on:
