Hispanic/Latino Heritage Month
Each year, we observe National Hispanic/Latino Heritage Month from Sept. 15 to Oct. 15, by celebrating the contributions and importance of Hispanics and Latinos to the country and to our community. Join us and kick off the month of celebration with CRC’s MI CASA on Sept. 15 at 1 p.m. and enjoy the SCC Fall 2021 RAZA Bienvenida Week that is full of fun opportunities to celebrate and connect!

API Welcome: Mid-Autumn Festival Celebration
Celebrate back to school and the Mid-Autumn Festival with the API community virtually on Wednesday, Sept. 15, from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. 

Hosted by the Sacramento City College API program in collaboration with the SCC Cultural Engagement Center, we will enjoy games and connect as an API community of students, faculty and staff. 

This virtual event will also have two opportunities for students to win a $20 Amazon gift card! Winners can only win once and must be a Los Rios student. Simply attending the event and entering the drawing for an opportunity to win one of the gift cards.
Get Ready to Transfer with Feria de Educación
Feria de Educación and the Transfer Corner will be held virtually Oct. 1 and 2. The Transfer Corner will help students get ready to transfer to a four-year university. Advisors will be on hand to meet with you and review your transcript(s) and help you plan your next steps. To schedule your individual appointment with an advisor please RSVP at TransferCorner2021.

Clay Day
Come participate in the power of creativity with clay on Saturday, Sept. 18, at 10 a.m. on the West Lawn of the Capitol in downtown Sacramento! 

2,000 pounds of clay will be available at Clay Day and each participant will be given 5 pounds of clay to get creative! The event is hosted by ARC's Rodney Mott and students. It is free for all!
Constitution Day
Constitution Day is commemorated each year on Sept. 17, the date on which the founding fathers signed the document in 1787. You can learn more about the founders, formation of the constitution and read the text on line at the National Archives website.

Don't forget that you can register to vote at any time on the CA Secretary of State website.
Reminder: On-Campus Vaccine Clinic This Thursday
A vaccination clinic will be held on the SCC main campus Thursday, Sept. 16, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Get vaccinated (either your 1st or 2nd dose) and qualify for student incentives! The clinic is facilitated by Walgreens as part of the federal vaccination rollout program. Vaccinations are free and available regardless of immigration status or insurance coverage. Appointments are encouraged, but the clinics will also serve walk-ups.
