Congratulations to SCC’s 2025 PTK All-California Academic Honor Roll Students!

The Community College League of California is proud to recognize the 2025 Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) All-California Academic Honor Roll, celebrating the academic excellence and dedication of community college students across the state.


A special congratulations to Sara Borges, Anna Forsgren, Scott Lee, and Fnu Sohail from Sacramento City College for their outstanding achievements!


These students represent the best of SCC, and we celebrate their hard work and commitment to academic success.

SCC Students Recognized as Jack Kent Cooke Scholarship Semifinalists

Scott Lee, Araceli Robles, and Sohail Sohail from SCC have been named semifinalists for the Jack Kent Cooke Undergraduate Transfer Scholarship, an award providing up to $55,000 per year to support community college students as they transfer to a four-year institution.


This distinction places Scott, Araceli, and Sohail among a select group of 467 students nationwide recognized for their academic excellence, perseverance, and leadership. 


SCC celebrates this impressive accomplishment with you. Congrats, Panthers!

SEAP APPLICATIONS NOW OPEN FOR FY 2025-26

We are excited to announce that applications are now open for the Student Equity and Achievement Program (SEAP) funding for the 2025-26 fiscal year. SEAP was established with the goal of eliminating achievement gaps and supporting the success of disproportionately impacted (DI) student populations. 


Key Dates and Deadlines

Application Closes: Friday, April 18

Application Workshop (Zoom): Friday, April 18, 10:00 to 11:00 am

Tentative Award Notifications: Early May


We invite you to submit your proposals for innovative programs and activities that align with the goals outlined in SCC's Student Equity Plan (SEP). To qualify for funding, your request must address at least one of the key metrics and target one DI student group. We encourage you to review the SCC Student Data Dashboards to better understand the student achievement gaps and identify how your program can help close these gaps.

Undocu-Knowledge Workshop Series: Family-Based Immigration

Los Rios’ Undocumented Student Support Centers continues its series of timely and informative workshops designed to provide critical support and guidance to undocumented individuals, students, and their families. Whether you're directly impacted or seeking to be an informed ally, these workshops offer valuable insights and resources for navigating complex immigration challenges.

Family-Based Immigration

Wednesday, March 26, 1:00 to 2:00 pm, online via Zoom (register in advance)

Family-based petitions are a key pathway to reunite families under U.S. immigration laws. This workshop offers a general guide to understanding eligibility, filing requirements, and the overall process for sponsoring relatives.

Public Safety Career Fair at SCC

Interested in supporting students pursuing a career in public safety? Encourage them to attend Career Services’ Public Safety Career Fair on Thursday, March 27, from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm in SCC’s Quad. There they’ll have a chance to meet with representatives from city, county, state, and federal agencies to learn about career growth, job opportunities, pay, and more. Feel free to stop by yourself to explore specialized gear and vehicles used by public safety professionals as well.

Encourage your students to make a difference on campus by running for a position in the Student Associated Council or as the district-wide student trustee. Applications are due by Tuesday, April 1, before 5:00 pm. Voting will take place online on April 22-23.
