Peer mentors and tutors are ready to help make this semester a success! Tutors can provide support in a variety of subjects. Encourage students to start early and build a relationship with their tutor to get help with subject-specific questions, assignments, or writing. To schedule an appointment, direct students to the tutoring webpage. 

Even though the physical doors are closed right now, the Library is still available to support students with a wide variety of resources and services including:

Students can check out physical books, including some textbooks, and pick them up via a safe and socially-distanced method. They can search OneSearch to find what’s available for checkout. 

Librarians are available 24/7 via chat. Students can access this service inside OneSearch or on the library’s homepage. They can also make an appointment for research assistance or send the librarians an email.

The library has an excellent (and growing) collection of electronic content to complement your class discussions, and research material to help with your course assignments. Visit the library’s Research Databases page to browse.

Students who plan to graduate or receive a certificate at the end of this semester (Spring 2022), need to submit their graduation petition by the Friday, March 4 deadline. For those that want to meet with a counselor before filing their petition, don't wait - they should make their counseling appointment today! Students can complete their online grad petition now.

She has spent her career investigating racial inequality and injustice, and her reporting has earned her the MacArthur Fellowship, also known as the Genius Grant, a Peabody Award, two George Polk Awards, and three National Magazine Awards.

Join FLC's Spring 2022 Racial Justice Book Circle as we read and discuss Bettina Love’s book, We Want to Do More Than Survive: Abolitionist Teaching and the Pursuit of Educational Freedom. Drawing on personal stories, research, and historical events, Love, an esteemed educator in urban schools, offers a vision of educational justice inspired by the rebellious spirit and methods of abolitionists. Following in the tradition of activists like Ella Baker, Bayard Rustin, and Fannie Lou Hamer, We Want to Do More Than Survive introduces an alternative to traditional modes of educational reform and expands our ideas of civic engagement and intersectional justice.

To accompany the book read, join your colleagues on Wednesdays from 12:00 to 1:00 pm via Zoom, starting Wednesday, February 9, to review and discuss the concepts addressed. RSVP now.
