Women in Film

Join CRC Professors Diana Reed and Lauren Wagner for “Women in Film: Agents of Hope and Healing” on Thursday, March 10, from 1:00 to 2:20 pm via Zoom. This presentation celebrating Women’s History Month will include a screening and discussion of various depictions of women in films as agents of hope and healing. After watching each film segment, we will analyze the intention of the filmmaker, consider the historical accuracy of the content, and share the clip's impact on us as viewers.

Immigration Town Hall

Los Rios’ Refugee Career Pathways welcomes the International Rescue Committee Immigration Team who will hold a town hall/clinic and discussion about immigration on Tuesday, March 8 at 4:00 pm via Zoom. All who are interested in immigration resources for themselves or their families are welcome to come and ask questions. Please register for the event in advance.

XITO Two-Day Institute

The Retention Advancement & Student Achievement (RASA) center would like to invite all Faculty, Staff and students to this Professional Development opportunity. It is a two-day institute hosted by Xicanx Institute on Teaching an Organizing (XITO). The event will be remote and other details are included in the attached flyer. SCC Intoduces Food Trucks, Expanded Vending Items

New options for food on the SCC main campus! There will be food trucks on campus, Monday through Thursday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Additionally there will be expanded vending options, including fresh items in City Café, Monday through Thursday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Classified Professional Fundraiser

Help Classified Professionals at SCC fundraise for our annual Classified Retreat by eating ice cream!

This event brings the classified professionals together to focus on building and improving our community, sharing best practices, and professional development. Funds will go toward workshop presenters and prizes for attendees.

This fundraiser will be held at Somisomi (Sacramento branch) near Sacramento City College, on Friday, March 11, from 12 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Help for Ukraine

This is a brief list of resources for those affected by the situation in Ukraine.

If students need to talk to someone for help as they go through a difficult time, they can reach out to Los Rios Mental Health & Wellness Services, the SCC Counseling Office, or TimelyCare 24/7 telehealth services. Employees are encouraged to contact their healthcare provider or the District's Employee Assistance Program.

The Los Rios Refugee Career Pathways program assists refugees/SIV/asylees and can connect people with campus and community resources.

Students in need of support should contact our Basic Needs Center.

President Gutierrez's Office Hour

SCC President Michael Gutierrez will hold scheduled office hours on the last Thursday of the month during the Spring semester, from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. Upcoming office hours dates are as follows:
