Financial Aid is Still Available for You

If you’re planning to take classes in the fall, make sure you complete your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or California Dream Act Application (CADAA) early so you are able to get your distribution before the start of the fall semester.

Additionally, the federal government has provided Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund (HEERF) resources to help address the immediate and urgent impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on students. For the Summer 2022, Fall 2022, and Spring 2023 terms, the grants will range between $150 and $900, based on a student's financial need and the number of units they are enrolled in this semester. Students may be eligible for a second, matching grant based on continued enrollment. In total, an eligible student could receive up to $3,600 if they enroll in – and stay enrolled in – 15 units plus certain transferable math and English courses for the full year.

Need help completing your application? Financial Aid officers have a Virtual Zoom Lab available to students for drop-in Monday-Friday. Get the lab hours and the Zoom link on the Financial Aid webpage.

YES 22: D&DM Year End Show

The inception of a design education is a sacred moment when students develop design thinking and software skills they will utilize for their entire lives.

Traditionally, the D&DM Year End Show is an in-person, faculty-curated event that showcases our student’s best design work of the Spring and Fall semesters. It will be in a virtual format again this year with the addition of guest speakers and course demonstrations.

All Los Rios students, friends, family, and alumni are invited to join us on Monday, May 16th for a Virtual Year End Show

This past school year has been a struggle for everyone and out of that struggle came opportunity. The faculty in our program have found new and effective ways to reach students that will affect our teaching for the foreseeable future. The students have learned about how they learn and most have build skills that we call “self sufficiency”. We’ve all been more innovative, more creative, and more of who we truly are.

Who would have known that a pandemic would bring any good at all!?

The premise behind our theme this year addresses the connection we maintained while apart. Students are innovating new ways of getting to know each other, and getting to know faculty members. They are working in teams and supporting each other through the technology available to us.
