The Black Academy's FYE Summer Bridge program is here to support students as they transition into college. Encourage students to join us in the Student Center on Wednesday, July 31 & Thursday, August 1, from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm! Our mission is to foster a strong community, ensure student success to help them thrive in their college experience.

Do You Have Your Parking Permit for Fall?

Parking permits are required for the Fall 2024 semester. Note that current 2023-2025 employee parking permits are valid through June 30, 2025.

If you need to pick up an employee parking permit, please stop by the College Police office at your campus before the start of the fall semester on August 24.

Don't Miss the Instrument Sale, August 8-10

Are you interested in acquiring a piano, digital piano, or violin? Consider purchasing one at the instrument sale to be held at SCC August 8-10!

The Music Department at Sacramento City College has partnered with the Rockley Family Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to supporting music education. Musical instruments provided will be sold at a significant discount from manufacturer retail pricing, and the proceeds from the sale will be donated to the SCC Music Department, providing valuable resources and scholarship money for music students.

Pianos, digital pianos and violins will be available for public purchase Thursday, Friday and Saturday, August 8-10, in the SCC Student Center. Most instruments are less than one year old and are tuned and ready to play.

Hiring the Best/Equity Representative Training

Interested in serving on a hiring or interview committee? Join our online session Wednesday, July 24 from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. to complete essential training courses. Together, we’ll cover important details for serving on hiring committees in our “Hiring the Best” training, followed by a comprehensive session on becoming an effective Equity Representative.

Teachers 4 Equity: Join the 2024-2025 Cohort!

Teachers 4 Equity is now recruiting participants for the 2024-2025 cohort. This program offers an invaluable opportunity to learn about the hidden curriculum that may be harming your most vulnerable students, develop culturally relevant and engaging course content, and establish meaningful relationships with students from diverse backgrounds. Participants will also have the chance to network and build a supportive cohort of like-minded faculty, all while earning a stipend. Don't miss this chance to make a difference in your teaching and support equity in education. 

Get Ready to Transfer: Los Rios CSU & UC Transfer Series

Are your students planning to transfer to a CSU or UC?  Help them take the next step in their academic journey by encouraging them to attend our CSU & UC Transfer Workshop Series at the SCC Transfer Center! These workshops are specifically designed to provide hands-on  support from a transfer specialist and cover essential topics such as admissions, financial aid, student life and department specific questions.

Fee Payment Reminder

Please remind students to check their eServices for any unpaid fees. Financial aid, including the California College Promise Grant, will not cover mandatory fees such as the Student Representation fee, Universal Transit Pass (UTP) fee, and Health Services fee. If a student is experiencing delays with their FAFSA or CADAA application, they may need to pay the fees, then apply for a refund after the disbursement or grant is in place. Information about fee payment options can be found on the Fee Payment Deadlines page.

The deadline to pay fees for fall semester is August 9, 2024 for students who enrolled between April 15 and July 26. If they enrolled after July 26, payment is due the day after they enrolled.

Most students qualify for the California College Promise Grant, which helps with tuition costs, so encourage all students to submit an application! They may contact the Financial Aid office if they have questions or need assistance.

SCC at the 2024 CCC HBCU Summit Tour

Sacramento City College was fortunate to be a part of the 2024 California Community Colleges HBCU Summit tour in Charlotte, North Carolina.
