Summer Class Schedules

The Summer 2024 class schedule is now available on the Sacramento City College website! Please encourage students to check out the summer class offerings and make sure they are ready to register for classes. Students’ individual priority enrollment dates/times are available in eServices now and enrollment will begin Monday, March 4.

Get ready to showcase your SCC pride at the second annual Celebrate City, an open house at Sacramento City College! This year’s event will be held on Friday, April 19, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. We're inviting the community to experience all that SCC has to offer and we want YOU to be a part of it.

Sign up to table at Celebrate City, represent your department, and share your passion for SCC with our guests! Whether you’ve got an exciting demonstration, informative presentation, or some awesome swag to give away, we want to see it all!

Making MS Word Documents Accessible

Whether you work with students, staff, or faculty, this workshop is designed to help you create more accessible and user-friendly documents in Microsoft Word. Join us Tuesday, March 5, 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. online via Zoom as we explore basic accessibility rules and learn how the accessibility checker in Word can simplify the process.

Dress for Success: Professional Threads & Headshots for Students!

Career Services is hosting an event to help students enhance their professional image with professional attire, and headshots provided by SCC’s photography department. Students can browse our collection of professional attire and take complimentary professional headshots provided by the Photography Department. No pre-registration is required so encourage a student to simply drop by Cafeteria Rooms 1 & 2.

This event spans two days:  

• Wednesday, March 6, 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. - Cafe Rooms 1&2
• Thursday, March 7, 12:00 to 6:00 p.m. - Cafe Rooms 1&2

Financial Aid Update

Students who are filling out their FAFSA have been experiencing an issue where contributors without a social security number (SSN) are unable to start or access the 2024-25 application form. Until it is resolved, the Federal Student Aid Commission has provided instructions for submitting the form if students have a contributor without an SSN. Please note that following the instructions will result in an incomplete FAFSA submission that the student must correct at a later date.

Join PTK Beta Eta Psi for Land Park Clean-Up Events!

Get ready to make a difference in our community with PTK Beta Eta Psi at an upcoming Land Park Clean-Up event! Join us on the first Saturday of every month this spring as we team up with the Land Park Volunteer Corps to give Land Park the care it deserves. 

Our first clean up event will be: 

• Date/Time: Saturday, March 2, - 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
• Location: 3901 Land Park Dr, Sacramento, CA 95822

Bring your own gloves if you have them, or they will be provided. Plus, enjoy pastries & coffee in the morning and a BBQ lunch in the afternoon as a thank you for your hard work.

Brown Bag with Brian

Join Chancellor Brian King at an upcoming Brown Bag session at your college! These informal gatherings are an excellent opportunity for faculty, staff and students to engage directly with Chancellor King on the topics that matter most to them or the college community as a whole. Bring your lunch and join us for a fruitful discussion. 

The next session at Sacramento City College will be from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. in (LRC105).

Chancellor Office Hours

Beginning this month, Los Rios Chancellor Brian King will also host monthly office hours at each Los Rios college. This is an opportunity for faculty, staff, or students to drop in and talk to Chancellor King about any topic(s) important to you or your college in general. 

Chancellor King's February Office Hours at Sacramento City College will be from Thursday, February. 29, 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. in Rodda Hall North 273 (RHN-273)
