Daylight Saving Time begins in 2021 on Sunday, March 14, when clocks will “spring forward” one hour and we lose an hour of sleep overnight.

StemExpress is also offering individuals who have tested positive for COVID-19 an opportunity to participate in life-changing research by donating their blood to science. The individuals that participate will be compensated for their time and effort of their blood donation. Participation in this effort is vital and provides leading scientists with the samples needed to find COVID-19 treatments, additional vaccines, and with hope, a cure.

Stanford University is offering a professional development opportunity for community college faculty and academic staff interested in expanding global studies programs. The Stanford EPIC Fellowship is a one-year program open to faculty and staff at any California community college. The program is free of cost, and the work is done remotely. The program brings together fellows who work collaboratively with colleagues at Stanford throughout the year on projects aimed at internationalizing course curricula and producing innovative materials for use in community college classrooms. Fellows represent a broad range of backgrounds across the humanities and sciences. The application deadline is April 1. Learn more about now at the program website.

President Gutierrez will be holding an office hour twice a month during the Fall semester. Office hours will be held on the second Friday at 8:30 a.m. and fourth Thursday at 2:30 p.m. The next upcoming office hour will be Friday, March 12, 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Please look for an email prior to each event to sign up.
