A Boost for Downtown Revitalization
Access to destinations on, and adjacent to, Market Street will improve with the addition of Waymo robotaxis this summer. The fully autonomous ride-hailing service currently operates City-wide, as well as in LA, Phoenix and Austin. Building owners, residents and businesses, and particularly hotels, restaurants and theaters lauded the move citing the need for more patron and staff access. Commercial real estate brokers say the move is also likely to improve retail leasing efforts on Market Street with improved customer access, better storefront visibility and more lights and activity at night. In a recent SF Chronicle article, "Jennifer Bielstein, executive director of American Conservatory Theater... said 'We have long wanted Market Street to be open to cars. There is the convenience factor and the ease factor, and we think it would improve safety...'"

| SF Ballet Delights This Spring |
The SF Ballet 2024-2025 season is dazzling at the War Memorial Opera House stage this spring. Ballets include Broken Love (through April 18), a double bill in which a SF Chronicle review notes, "Isabella DeVivo was a magnetic Frida on opening night. In a teasingly triumphant duet with her fellow artist and feckless lover, Diego Rivera (Myles Thatcher in the thankless role of a macho cad), DeVivo’s Frida planted her bare foot on his thigh, tossed him aside like a gunnysack and zoomed back in for a fleeting kiss."
Other ballets on stage this spring include Van Manen: Dutch Grandmaster (through April 19), and Frankenstein Encore (April 26-May 4). Tickets and more information on the SF Ballet site.
