Outstanding Human Resources Program Evaluations

State Civil Service would like to announce two outstanding Human Resources Program Evaluations recently conducted by their Accountability Division.  Northwest Louisiana Veterans Home and Acadiana Area Human Services District received outstanding evaluations with 100% compliance in all categories audited.
The State Civil Service Accountability Division is responsible for providing an objective evaluation of the human resource practices used by state agencies to manage the classified work force. It assesses the effectiveness of those practices and overall adherence to merit principles and compliance with State Civil Service Rules.

Other excellent evaluations recently conducted, having minimal deficiencies were:
Department of Transportation & Development
Louisiana State Penitentiary
Louisiana Department of Revenue
Department of Wildlife and Fisheries
The evaluation reports received by these agencies show the value and importance of excellence they place on human resources management in state government. It is rarely an easy task to receive this type of report as agencies face the many complex challenges in human resources.
State Civil Service Comprehensive Public Training Program
Approves Professional Trainer Certificates

The CPTP Professional Trainer Certificate is an intensive program for employees at state agencies who are involved in training. The participants come from all levels of experience within the field. The program they completed consisted of 9 web-based courses and 3 instructor-led courses culminating in a knowledge exam and a capstone.
During the capstone, participants were tasked with delivering a presentation in front a panel of instructors and their peers. The presentation was followed by an interview with the instructor panel in which the participant was questioned regarding his or her design process and choices. The time and effort that these employees put forth in completing the program is admirable. We would like to extend our congratulations to them for their hard work and perseverance in completing the program.
