Fridays at the Front Tour - "The Flames Leaped Upward": Civil War Mount Jackson
Mount Jackson
(Friday, October 7, 2022, 10am)

Join historian and SVBF CEO Keven Walker for this tour of Mount Jackson’s Civil sites. Situated along the Valley Pike, and at the southern terminus of the Manassas Gap Railroad, Mt. Jackson became the location of a Confederate General Hospital and an adjacent cemetery. Lying just north of the pivotal position of Rude’s Hill, it was frequently visited by opposing troops as they marched up and down the Valley; was the scene of numerous smaller fights – and the final stages of “The Woodstock Races” after the Battle of Tom’s Brook; and was at the center of the climatic days of “The Burning.”

The tour will be free, but pre-registration is required and space will be limited. For more details, or to register, click the link here.
