Greetings!

Thank you to all our clients and talented staff who made 2021 an incredibly successful year for Civiltec. Together, we completed 322 projects - wow! Our firm is ready to take on the new year with a full slate of work and an ever-growing staff of world-class engineers and support staff who make it all possible. 
 
Since last quarter, we were able to add five new employees to our roster, four of which are based in our Arizona offices: Ben Goulet, Engineering Technician EIT in Phoenix, Uriah Bisson, our Party Chief in Prescott, Brandi Tamura, Staff Engineer EIT in Phoenix, and Heber Torres, PE, Principal Electrical Engineer in Phoenix. 
 
Our employees continue to commit to professional development to increase the caliber of their talent. Congratulations to Ben Goulet, our most recent Staff Spotlight, for passing his EIT exam. Our employee’s continued drive for professional growth exemplifies Civiltec’s strengths. The Society of Marketing Professional Services Arizona (SMPS) also elected Christy Sipos, Civiltec’s Marketing Manager, as President-Elect. During Christy’s 22-year tenure with SMPS, she has worn many hats, including: Treasurer, Secretary, Membership Director, Membership Retention Chair, Education Chair, Mentor, and Logistics Chair of the Southwest Regional Conference. Congratulations, Christy!
 
Civiltec continued to find ways in 2021 to connect with industry professionals and drive forward our innovative work. I am very grateful we were able to participate in a slate of conferences this Fall, including ACEC Roads & Streets, the SMPS Southwest Regional Conference, and the APWA Fall Conference.
 
In project news, Civiltec worked on construction of street and drainage enhancements in Prescott, Chino Valley and Dewey-Humboldt. We also completed design and construction of water, sewer and other utility infrastructure projects in the Phoenix area as well as across northern Arizona. Our engineering and land surveying work continues to be of utmost importance to clients and partners throughout Arizona.

As a firm, we are grateful to be afforded the opportunity to ensure safe and efficient public works projects for a multitude of communities. Our ability to provide critical infrastructure to our clients and their thousands of residents is what makes our line of work so important. Thank you for supporting us along the way.

Ben Goulet, Engineering Technician EIT

"At the end of my 4th year of teaching and long chats with Rick, my wife Amy, and lots of prayer, I made the decision to make a total career and life change and came on as a full-time employee with Civiltec as a draftsman. From there I started dabbling in design, going out in the field to do observation on projects and after several years, started managing some projects." 
Civiltec delivered design plans and specifications for the construction of a sidewalk, curb and gutter improvements, curb ramps, drainage improvements, asphalt repair, and chip seal for the Town of Dewey-Humboldt. The Arizona Department of Housing provided the Town with a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) to fund this project. With Civiltec’s assistance, the sidewalk improvements now provide a safe, off-street walking path to Humboldt Elementary School, improving the quality and functionality of Hill Street for residents and visitors alike.
SMPS is a community of Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (A/E/C) marketing and business professionals who seek to transform the industry through marketing leadership. Christy Sipos will serve as President from September 2022 through August 2023. At Civiltec, Christy has led the firm’s business development and marketing activities for six years, assisting both the California and Arizona offices.
In August 2021, the Town of Chino Valley (Town) unanimously approved Civiltec as the lead consultant for their Municipal Waterline Improvements Project. Design has been completed for a looped water supply line in the Old Home Manor area of the Town, which currently has a 12-inch single water supply line. The new line will be an 18-inch diameter and will provide a second potable water supply to the area to accommodate current and future water demands.
