SPRING 2018

As we head into the second half of 2018, we are grateful for our long-time relationships that have only grown stronger over the years. In April, we celebrated our 32nd anniversary during our annual "Day at the Races" at the Santa Anita Track. It was wonderful to be surrounded by family and so many great friends.

We have also built our partnerships with the Cities of Beverly Hills and Covina. Our team has been hard at work in creating plans to streamline both Cities' water systems. We look forward to fostering these relationships and delivering more successful projects, backed by Greg Ripperger's new Water Audit Validator certification!

Check out this Spring 2018 Quarterly Newsletter for a brief glance at the latest Civiltec projects in California and the people who make this work happen. If you know others who would appreciate this Quarterly Newsletter,  and encourage them to join our mailing list!

Sincerely,
W. David Byrum, P.E.

2018 Day at the Races Recap
With over 300 RSVPs, the 2018 Day at the Races event was our biggest and best event yet! Civiltec employees, family members, clients, and friends gathered at Picnic Area #1 in Santa Anita Park to celebrate the firm's 32nd anniversary.

An Interconnected Water System in Beverly Hills
Beverly Hills Civiltec began working with the City of Beverly Hills in 2015. Since that time, the firm has grown its relationship and partnered with the City on an increasing number of projects. The first project that Civiltec delivered was a "Developer Manual" for the City's Water System projects.

Once completed, Civiltec's work in Beverly Hills will result in a completely uniform system that both developers and city staff can navigate.
Upgrading City of Covina's Water System
Covina The City of Covina recently contracted the team of Civiltec and Raftelis, a financial analysis firm, to deliver a water master plan and water rate study.

Combined the two studies will result in a Capital Improvement Plan for Covina which will outline a list of a proposed water projects that should be targeted in the next five, then ten years.

Greg Ripperger Earns Water Audit Validator Certification
Civiltec Associate Greg Ripperger has recently earned his certification as a Water Audit Validator. Water losses are a growing concern for water utilities agencies and, as required by Senate Bill 555, all water suppliers in California must submit a validated water loss audit to the California Department of Water Resources by October 1 each year.

We love hearing news from everyone in the Civiltec community. Feel free to reach out, say hello and tell us all the news from your organization!

Michael Malcolm

" Homework takes up the bulk of my free time, but when there is a surplus of it, I find myself streaming entertainment from Netflix and Amazon Prime. My wife Laura and I are working our way through the Star Trek series. We've seen all of the ones with Kirk and now we are half way through Picard."
