Greetings!

Civiltec moves into spring with additions to our world-class staff that make what we do possible. I am grateful for this opportunity to update you on the new developments here at Civiltec over the past few months.
 
Civiltec employees went above and beyond this past Winter once again. Gretel Ochoa-Nhac, a Project Engineer based in Monrovia, recently received her Water Auditor certification. Water Audit Validators examine water loss audit inputs to consider the water audit’s accuracy and document any sources of uncertainty. Gretel’s new skill is an impressive addition to her professional toolset, and enables us to keep our work in-house for clients. Congratulations, Gretel!
 
Civiltec continues to expand its workforce with new engineering expertise. Our Fullerton team welcomed Aileen Vogelvang, Project and Marketing Coordinator, on March 1st. In her role, Aileen is helping our team properly submit and sort through project proposals in a timely manner, which is ever important as our workflow remains strong. 
 
In project news, Civiltec partnered with Pasadena Power and Water to provide engineering and surveying services. Civiltec will support the addition of above ground improvements for the Garfield Replacement Well in Villa Parke, Pasadena. Additionally, the City of Colton selected Civiltec to design a new water reservoirto help them manage their potable water storage. Work on that project is just beginning, and construction is estimated to wrap up in August 2024. Civiltec is proud to partner with local governments and public agencies across California to support critical water infrastructure and services for communities.
 
Civiltec is enthusiastic to resume in-person conferences! The Civiltec team recently made an appearance at the American Water Works Association conference hosted at the Disneyland Hotel in Anaheim. Shem Hawes, PE, David Song, PE, Alec Escamilla, Joash Sigamoney, Tim Kwan and Shayna Partovi, did a great job representing Civiltec. In other exciting office news, Andrew Shroads was the winner of the second annual Civiltec March Madness bracket tournament.

We already knew that Civiltec Engineering is home to a dynamic crew of engineering professionals, but now we are officially certified as a “Great Place to Work”! Great Place to Work® is a global certification program focusing on company culture. In partnership with the program, Civiltec provided an anonymous engagement survey to all company employees.
Civiltec’s Gretel Ochoa-Nhac, a Project Engineer based in Monrovia, CA, is officially Water Audit Validator certified! The Water Audit Validator course is a 2-day program designed to qualify individuals to perform Level 1 water audit validations in California.
The Santa Clarita Valley Water Agency (SCVWA) has selected Civiltec to design a new 1.58-million-gallon concrete water tank for the Deane Zone, located in Santa Clarita, CA. Civiltec has conducted several studies for SCVWA that identified a 4.22-million-gallon storage deficiency in the pressure zone, which the new 1.58-million-gallon concrete tank will help alleviate. 
The City of Colton selected Civiltec to design a new 6-million-gallon water tank. The construction of this tank, in conjunction with repairs to Rialto Reservoir 2, will satisfy an 8.3-million-gallon storage deficiency of potable water in the City’s Master Water Plan. Civiltec’s team of world class engineers will bring their expertise to serve the design needs of the City of Colton.
"I worked as an intern during college and after graduating, returned to work for Civiltec. I wanted to gain more experience and work to hone my marketing and communication skills. So, I was hired as the Marketing Assistant and now, here I am as a Marketing Coordinator a year later. What has made me continue to enjoy working for Civiltec is the flexible work schedule, the intelligent team members, and my team’s excitement for new ideas and planning on ways to implement them. It makes me feel heard and excited for the future."
