Greetings!

Thank you to all of our clients and talented staff who made 2021 an incredibly successful year for Civiltec. Together, we completed 322 projects - wow! Our firm is ready to take on the new year with a full slate of work and an ever-growing staff of world-class engineers who make it all possible. 
 
Since last quarter, we added five new employees to our roster, one of which is based in California: Daniel Djemal, an Engineering Intern in Monrovia. Heber Torres, PE, Principal Electrical Engineer in Phoenix, has also joined us this month and will be working on California and Arizona electrical and controls engineering projects.
 
Our employees’ commitment to professional development continues to keep them apprised of industry advancements and at the top of their game for clients. Congratulations to Gretel Ochoa-Nhac, Project Engineer, for becoming Water Audit Validator Certified from the California-Nevada Section, American Water Works Association! Gretel has been with the firm for over seven years and continually exemplifies Civiltec’s strengths through her work ethic. The Society of Marketing Professional Services Arizona (SMPS) also elected Christy Sipos, Civiltec’s Marketing Manager, as President-Elect. During Christy’s 22-year tenure with SMPS, she has worn many hats, including: Treasurer, Secretary, Membership Director, Membership Retention Chair, Education Chair, Mentor, and Logistics Chair of the Southwest Regional Conference. Congratulations, Christy!
 
Civiltec continued to find ways in 2021 to connect with industry professionals and drive forward our innovative work. I am very grateful we were able to participate in a slate of conferences this Fall, including ACEC Roads & Streets, the SMPS Southwest Regional Conference, and the ACWA Fall Conference.
 
In project news, Civiltec will provide surveying and engineering services for Pasadena Water and Power on a new project, as well as continue to assess the condition of San Gabriel Valley Municipal Water District’s Devil Canyon-Azusa Pipeline Project (DCAP). Our work in water engineering continues to be of utmost importance in California. As a firm, we are grateful to be afforded the opportunity to ensure safe and efficient water access for communities. Our ability to provide sound critical infrastructure to our clients and their thousands of residents is what makes our line of work so important. Thank you for supporting us along the way.

STAFF SPOTLIGHT
The Society for Marketing Professional Services (SMPS) Arizona Chapter has elected Marketing Manager, Christy Sipos, CPSM, as their President-Elect. Christy will serve as President from September 2022 through August 2023.

Fun fact: during her 22 year tenure with SMPS, Christy has worn many hats, including: Treasurer, Secretary, Membership Director, Membership Retention Chair, Education Chair, Mentor, and Logistics Chair of the Southwest Regional Conference!
Civiltec has been selected to provide surveying and engineering services for Pasadena Water and Power (PWP). The project will bring the Garfield Replacement Well in Villa Parke back online to provide water for the PWP service area and benefit all residents of the greater Pasadena area who utilize the City’s Community Center.
The San Gabriel Valley Municipal Water District (SGVWMD) selected Civiltec to assess the condition of the Devil Canyon-Azusa Pipeline Project (DCAP). This assessment will ensure the continued delivery of efficient and safe water service for residents served by SGVWMD. The DCAP pipeline is considered the backbone of SGVMWD’s operation and transfers the state water project (SWP) to the Main Basin for its member cities.
