As we move through the summer months of Civiltec’s 39th year in business, it’s a good time to reflect on our growth and look forward with purpose. Across Arizona and California, our teams are advancing critical projects that strengthen infrastructure, build resilient communities, and reinforce the trusted partnerships we’ve developed over decades.
At the core of these achievements are our people. This summer, Civiltec is proud to celebrate staff spotlights for Kilmer Chavez who recently passed his PE and was promoted to Project Engineer, Carli Monticalvo, and Steven Walker’s 5-year Milestone. Each has contributed years of experience and leadership that continue to shape our firm and the communities we serve. We are also excited to announce the well-deserved promotion of David Song, PE to Principal Engineer and Monrovia Branch Manager. This quarter, we also reached an exciting milestone by securing more than 85 new projects—a reflection of the trust our clients place in us and the dedication our team brings to every engagement. As we continue in the summer months, I envision sustaining our current business practices while positioning ourselves for a strong finish to the year. We’ve strengthened our organization throughout Arizona and California, and we see significant opportunities to build an even more robust backlog in the months ahead.
I’m especially proud to be part of an organization that exemplifies service. This spirit of generosity is visible in every office, where our employees invest countless hours not only in serving our clients but also in supporting one another and giving back to our communities. On a personal note, this summer has been a time of transition and celebration for me as well. My oldest daughter, Miranda, recently got married. As I approach the tail end of raising my children and watch them move into the next phases of their lives, I’ve found myself reflecting on new beginnings and appreciating past successes. I encourage each of you to be present in celebrating your relationships—whether at work, at home, or in your community. I like to call it work-life presence: finding joy in being attentive and fully engaged, no matter where you are or what role you’re in. You can read more about me in my Owner Spotlight.
