Dear NYHS Community,

To honor the 50th anniversary of the 1967 reunification of Jerusalem,  The Afikim Foundation  in cooperation with the  Israel Ministry of Diaspora Affairs  has commissioned the writing of a the Global Unity Torah. Jews worldwide have been invited to participate in this exciting project.

In order to participate, YOU buy a letter of the Global Unity Torah, not with money, but rather with an act of kindness/chesed.

NYHS has reserved a block of letters, the full Ten Commandments that appear in Sefer Devarim, Parashat Vaetchanan. We invite you to participate in this amazing project as part of the NYHS community. Click here to claim your letter! Our ability to do acts of kindness for those around us is unlimited. Whether it is holding the door open, making an extra trip to the airport, donating money, or making food for a friend who is under the weather. We encourage you to claim as many letters as you can do good deeds.  A number of people within our NYHS community have already started posting their acts of kindness and claiming their letters!

An official Certificate of Completion will be generated for each user, and following the Torah's dedication, a permanent digital file of all registrants and Acts of Kindness will be kept with the Unity Torah. The Torah is being donated to ZAKA rescue and recovery organization, to be used in houses of mourning, one of the vital services that they provide.

The Torah will be dedicated in a special ceremony on Sunday, May 28th in Jerusalem, and 3 winners will be selected to receive round-trip tickets to attend the ceremony in Jerusalem.

Click here to visit the project's official website.

Thank you for your participation!

Warmly,
Zelle
