Earlier this week, USICH published a tool that identifies federal funding, flexibilities, and waivers that are currently set to expire at various points in Fiscal Year (FY) 2022, which ends September 30, 2022.

The provisions that USICH listed are currently scheduled to expire at various times between now and September 30, 2022—not all on April 16, 2022.

Furthermore, while the Declaration of Public Health Emergency (PHE) for COVID-19 is currently scheduled to expire April 16, it may be renewed. The Department of Health and Human Services has stated that it would provide states with 60 days’ notice before the declaration ends, and such a notice has not yet been issued.

The status and timelines of these funding streams, flexibilities, and waivers continue to evolve. USICH will make every effort to update the tool as needed, should timelines and guidance change. For questions, contact your USICH regional coordinator.
