Clarifying New Materials & e-book
Download Reminder

Hello, Master Trainers and Class Leaders!

Thank you for your shared excitement with the release of our new materials and using those materials for the last month! The feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, with facilitators reporting improved ease of use with the scripts, and caregivers reporting their appreciation for the workbook to have all resources in one place.

We have received a few questions, so I am here to clarify things related to the new materials. Here are a few areas that have come up most frequently:

  • Materials released in March 2026 should only be used with the Powerful Tools for Caregivers Workbook.
  • The March 2026 materials are not formatted to be compatible with The Caregiver Helpbook. Several have noticed that there is not a handouts document in the new materials. That is because it is formatted for the workbook, which contains all of the previous handouts (plus extras!).
  • All organizations must be using the materials released in March 2026 with the Powerful Tools for Caregivers Workbook beginning on July 1, 2026
  • This deadline was announced in October 2025 when the workbook was released. Please be sure to prepare accordingly to switch to the new workbook. We recommend ordering the workbooks through the Extension Store at least three weeks before the class series is scheduled to begin.

Please let me know if you have any additional questions as you continue using these materials. You can always review the email we sent out on March 17 announcing the new materials if you're not sure where to find the various items in the download.

Moving on to the eBook now. We were given a couple of extra days for you to download the eBook if you have purchased the eBook in the past. This is not a required purchase or download. This is only a reminder for those who have purchased the book/licenses for the book. All downloads must be completed today or by midday tomorrow, April 24.

Please go to the Extension Store and ensure you have a copy of the PDF downloaded to your device. Follow these steps:

  1. Log into the Extension Store account where the eBook purchase(s) was made.
  2. Navigate to your account by clicking "Account" in the upper right-hand corner of the page.
  3. Towards the right side of the page, under "Order History," click the link that says "View Digital Products and E-Courses."
  4. Find the eBook purchase and click the red "Link" button.
  5. The file should download to your computer. Navigate to your Downloads folder and look for a PDF titled HS136AE. That is the eBook copy of The Caregiver Helpbook that you can send to caregivers until you've exhausted the number of licenses you've purchased.

Beginning on Monday, we will only have copies of the Powerful Tools for Caregivers Workbook available for purchase through the Extension Store. As a reminder, only licensed facilitators or those on our administrative list can purchase the workbook. They are not available for public purchase.

If you have any feedback to share about the new materials, please feel free to reach out to me anytime to share (ptcaregivers@iastate.edu). I welcome all feedback and appreciate your time!

I hope you and yours are well as we wrap up the month of April. Enjoy the beautiful blooms all around us, and as always, thank you for all you do for your community and caregivers.

With gratitude,

Dr. Katie Anthony

Program Coordinator
