Free Summer Meals - Clarinda Middle School
Each year, the U.S. Department of Agriculture partners with local organizations, like the Clarinda Community School District, to provide free meals to children when school is out for the summer. Anyone 18 or younger may come and enjoy a free meal.

The district will provide free meals to children during the summer at the Clarinda Middle School Cafeteria, Monday-Friday, from 11:30-12:30.

If you would like to volunteer or donate to the Summer Meal Program or have any questions, please contact the Food Service Director at 712-542-5167 for more information.
Keeping Our Students Safe and Secure
The safety and security of our students, staff, and guests is our deepest responsibility and one we take seriously. Like us, schools across the country are analyzing and studying their plans and making changes to improve and implement safety and security procedures.

The district currently has recording devices on buses and is in the process of installing recording devices, surveillance systems, and access controls at our buildings to improve the safety and security at our schools. We will work with emergency personnel as we review the current security structures and develop procedures to improve our ability to monitor, secure, and enhance the safety and security of our students, staff, and guests.

As our valued partners, we appreciate your patience and understanding as the safety and security structures are implemented. We will communicate how these safety and security measures will impact students, staff, parents, guests, and our schools. We will host informational sessions in the fall so all stakeholders will have an opportunity to ask questions and be informed. Together, we all have a role in the safety and security of our students and schools.
Facilities Planning and Review
Facilities were identified as one of the five strategic goals the district will focus on, based on stakeholder feedback. The district has conducted a comprehensive facilities review through Estes, a firm that works with districts and specializes in facility analysis and planning.

The school board is in the process of reviewing the data about our facilities and will be seeking input from the Facilities Advisory Committee and gathering feedback from stakeholders. We will communicate and keep stakeholders informed as the facility review process moves forward.
District Garage Sale
The district will have a garage sale to dispose of many items it no longer utilizes or has space to store (desks, chairs, cabinets, carts, etc.).
