December 2020 Newsletter
Hello Senior Families!

Included in this newsletter are updates on how to show teacher/staff appreciation, senior parent meetings updates, graduation update, and a reminder of scholarship websites.

I wish safety and well-being to you, your families, and your communities as we turn the page and look forward toward a new year.

TEACHER/STAFF APPRECIATION
As we hurtle towards the holidays, please take a moment to acknowledge our wonderful LACHSA teachers and staff this holiday season! Our teachers and staff have been working diligently to keep our students engaged in their studies and connected to each other. Please reach out to thank your student's teachers and those LACHSA administrators and counselors who have worked with your family to make this year truly exceptional during these uncommon times.

You can either email a teacher or staff member, or send something a little fancy -- Paperless Post, Punchbowl and Blue Mountain all offer free ecards -- and some with the option of attaching a gift card! Conversely, some retailers (Starbucks, Amazon, Barnes and Noble, etc.) will send a gift card along with an email greeting! Please give at a level comfortable to your family at this time of year.

Please go on AERIES to confirm which teachers work with your student. Please make your appreciation known -- we encourage your to work with your student to express your gratitude in a meaningful way.
SENIOR PARENT VIRTUAL MEETING
We are having a Senior Parent Meeting on Thursday, January 14th from 6:00pm - 6:45(ish) pm where we will brainstorm ways that we can celebrate our seniors and start planning them. There will be break out rooms with specific goals based on the ideas that we have already collected.

We did not get a lot of responses to the Survey for ideas, please
click HERE to take the survey in advance of the meeting. If you would like to lead one of the activities/events, please indicate it in the survey or email me. We definitely need parents to lead some of the ideas!

YEARBOOK PHOTOS

We don't have a definite date yet of when they are due, but stay tuned! It will be sometime after the new year starts.

Photos can be taken at Bronson Studio or you may take your own and submit them.
GRADUATION UPDATE

John Lawler and the Graduation Committee are continuing to vet locations and firm up plans for our senior's graduation. There is every indication that we will have a graduation in some form, which is great news! If you have any connections to outdoor venues, please email me!
