Our Academic Success Bear Camp is designed to help ensure you have a smooth transition into medical school. Current medical students will be sharing tips with you each day to help make sure you have a smooth transition into medical school.

Important Tasks

• Review the "Complete Before Orientation" module on Canvas
• Submit urine drug screening taken the week of July 24 to Campus Health.
• Complete financial aid next steps
• Apply for accommodations, if needed.
• Take the AAMC's Matriculating Student Questionnaire. Contact AAMC if you haven't received a link to the MSQ yet.

MD Orientation

August 7 - 11 | 8 am - 5 pm | Home Campus

Join us for in-person orientation on your home campus. This five-day introduction is a chance to meet the School of Medicine dean, campus leadership, and fellow classmates. It also includes helpful training sessions, an overview of campus resources, and so much more.

Relationships in Medicine

August 8 | 4:15 pm | Home Campus

Student Affairs will host an event for incoming students to invite their spouse or significant other to mix and mingle, while learning ways to be supportive during the medical school journey. Please RSVP by completing this Google Form.

White Coat Ceremony

September 16 | Hawkins Arena - Macon Campus

Mark your calendar for White Coat Ceremony, a rite of passage at the School of Medicine. In the presence of faculty, staff, and family, medical students are welcomed into the profession of medicine, donning their first white coats. As a class, you will recite the Hippocratic Oath for the first time. More details to come.
