Summer Living is Easy
Choosing just one art course is hard.
This year's summer program features over 300 courses, including 70 new classes to explore: Woodcarvin, Celtic Design & Monograms, Digital Explorations & Collage, Landscape Art Alternatives, Makeup FX & Character Design and Contemporary Sculpture to name a few.
So whether you are enrolling for the first time or you come back every year, we have courses for your interests, abilities and talent.  

20 Annual Dorset Kids' Fish Derby
July 9; at public dock in Dorset  9 am
Kids Art Classes
July 11, 13, 18 & 20: 9:30 - 12 pm $50/person includes instruction and materials.  Kids ages 10-15. Advanced registration required. 705-766-2357
Adult Art Classes:

Chetolah Pottery Studio & The Open Space: Tara Gilchrist          
All classes & events are held at 1022 Harvey Ave. West Dorset, ON 705-766-2260 Pre-registration required  

Kids Clay Class: Saturdays: July 9, 16,23& 30: 10 am - 12:30 pm
cost $35 -Clay pieces are left at the studio to be dried, glazed & fired; ready for pick-up the following Sat. A healthy snack is provided.
Healthy Living Series: Sundays 12-1 pm July 14, 24 &31
Annual LoveFest; Sat. Aug. 6 11 am to 8 pm. A one day festival of artists, vendors, workshops, food, drink, live music, families and fun.

Open Studio: Summer Sessions   
Our Summer Session is open to all levels. Session runs 6 weeks $240/ 6 weeks or drop-in @ $45/class. Beginners will receive instruction and those with experience can work away.
Wednesdays: July 13-Aug. 17; 1-4 pm or 6:30-9:30pm

Crafty Clay Camp for Youth & Family
This session runs 6 weeks. $180/ 6 weeks or $35-class.  Includes use of tools & equipment, clay, glazes & firings.
Tuesdays: July 12- Aug. 16 10 am -noon

Haliburton Highlands Museum                
Heritage Happenings: Wed. & Friday from July 6-Sept. 2, 10:30 am -12 pm.  Kids 6-12 are invited to the museum for fun activities based on our local history & heritage.
Wilderness School: Wed. in July & Aug. 1:30-3:30 pm. Kids aged 7 & up are invited to join museum staff & Corina Mansfield of Deep Roots Adventure to learn camping, survival & navigation skills in Glebe Park $5/child pre-registration required.

AJ Casson (1898 - 1992) was a member of the Group of Seven.  He painted many scenes around Algonquin Park.  The smooth lines and exciting colours in AJ Casson's work offer exciting inspiration for both beginner and intermediate participants.  All fabric layering techniques will be covered.  Visit website for details.
