In our first session we will build a stitch notebook. A reference tool to use to create some wonderful artistic pieces. This is a fun way to see what your machine can do. ANY modern machine can do it, from a few utility stitches to lots of decorative ones. Let’s just see what we can create!

Janome 500E - Embroidery Machine Coasters
Teacher – Carol Smith

Monday, October 28th, 2:30-5pm OR 6:00-8:30pm
(1 class)

This set of 4 Christmas coasters comes with a handy holder, all constructed in the 5 x 7” hoop of your embroidery machine. The holder is stipple quilted and can serve as a small hotpad. The center designs are appliqued, and the pieced frame of each coaster is done as part of the embroidery process, using the stitch and flip method. Topstitching may be done on a regular sewing machine, but it is not essential. This little package makes a great stocking stuffer or hostess gift. The basic pattern can be changed to suit other occasions, just change the embroidery or applique. How about a monogram? We will make one coaster and the holder in class. Note: An online embroidery pattern is required to be purchased for this class (approx. $5).

Four Dates – Four Quilts

3 hour workshops
Teacher: Jennifer Hodge

When you sign up for any of these four scrap workshops you will officially be part of the Bumbleberry Pie Scrap Management Society , whose aim will be ongoing Scrap Control. We all have containers of scraps that seem to multiply when left unattended. But scrap quilts take time to make, and so we often put off making one. In each of these workshops, instruction will be provided to make up to four blocks (or more if you like) to get your scrap quilt started. A handout with measurements for Twin, Double, and Queen size quilts to complete the quilt will go home with you. In each workshop, ideas on how to sort, store, sew and manage your scraps, as well as, the construction of the quilt will be covered.
