HHCS

Hello Families,

We missed the first two freezing Sundays and looks like we will have a warmer Sunday to start our classes!

Returning Students: Welcome back! Your teacher will return your graded final. If you did not receive an email report card, you will get a paper version Sunday. Take a moment and be proud of what you have learned. Be even prouder to learn from your mistakes. "You can pick up a mistake and carry it as a burden, or you can set it down and use it as a stepping stone to greatness."

New Students: We welcome you and your family. Coming in mid-year will feel like a sharp climb as the family acclimates to the schedule, policies and workload. Please take the time now to make sure the whole family has a schedule and routine for homework, reviews, extra-curriculars, and family fun!

Please read this email together, so the whole family can be ready and excited with us! (Mom/Dad, in case you are not there to take your child to school, please make sure the helper knows too.)

As we complete our 36th school year, it is our great pleasure to start our Chinese and Math classes this Sunday (1/26). The following Sunday, February 2nd, all other special classes will start (Chess, ELAR, Guzheng, KungFu, etc.).

Please scroll down for directions on how to check your class times and classrooms. Some rooms may have changed. Please make sure to double check before coming in on Sunday.

You do not need to check-in at the front desk. Please go straight to class.

If you have any questions, please email our Registration Team. Please note, due to the high volume of emails, we may not be able to answer within the same day, especially Sundays. Thank you for your patience.

Please note, we prioritize our families' safety. We ask for courtesy and respect. Any endangerment or not abiding to the Plano Police may lead to automatic enrollment termination with no refund.

Important Details:

Security & Admittance:

Parents may walk their children to class. Once classes begin, parents, please promptly leave as we will be securing the hallways. Parents cannot stay in the hallways or open study areas near the classrooms. Parents may wait in the cafeteria. We will be keeping the front foyer clear for staff only. Hallways will open again at the end of class for pick-up.

Plano Police is on site during our class times, please be respectful and adhere to their directions.

Please make sure your child knows where and when you will pick them up. Please tell your child, if they are lost or confused, to find staff/Plano Police. There will always be staff at the Front Desks in the foyer.

All school entry and exit should be made only in the south entrance and south parking lot.

Coursework and Attendance:

Our Sundays are very precious to us. During the week, we hope students will be practicing and completing their homework. Create a schedule with the whole family to allow time for homework, chores, extracurricular activities and don't forget the fun stuff. It is ideal if a bit of homework and practice can be done daily. This will allow for full comprehension and connection. Don't wait for Saturday night to do your pages of work!

Missing class will feel like missing a whole week of work. Please email Registration Team for excused absences. Parents will need to make arrangements to pick up the missed materials from the teacher that day, or student will receive the missed materials upon return. We know illness can occur last minute, please read our policy about it. Please note, HHCS policy does not allow teachers/staff to email materials. Students who exceed 4 unexcused absences will be withdrawn from class without refund and receive failing grade for the semester.

Materials and coursework are the students' responsibilities once they are passed out by the teachers. There may be fees to purchase new materials or reprints.

In case of inclement weather, class cancelations will be posted on our website and email notifications will be sent before noon of that Sunday.
