Regarding Dress up Day 10/27
Students at TEMS have the choice to wear a costume or not for our Halloween Dress-up day on Friday, October 27 th.  Dressing up is not encouraged or discouraged by anyone at TEMS.   Some of our students have fun with it, while others do not wish to be bothered.  We leave the choice up to individual students and their families.
If a student decides to dress-up, there are a few parameters that we have.  They are:
1. No weapons or imitation weapons of any kind.
2. No masks or face paint that make the student unrecognizable.
3. Costumes should be appropriate for the ages of all students in our building, grades 5 - 8.  They should not be gory, frightening, suggestive, revealing, inappropriate, controversial, offensive, or disparaging to any individual or group.  Please do not wear a costume which may be perceived as trivializing or promoting negative stereotypes on the basis of color, creed, religion, disability, national origin, or race.
4. Since scary clowns could cause issues or raise fears from last year's news events, clown costumes will not be permitted again this year.
We thank parents for your assistance in following these guidelines to ensure that all of our students may enjoy the activities.

Hospitailty Committee
Is Looking for Volunteers

Please consider volunteering with this year's Hospitality Committee!  Our main role is to show appreciation to our TEMS teachers and staff.  It is light work with lots of gratitude! There are a handful of times throughout the school year in which we share your yummy baked or purchased goods, to say thanks. That's it!  Contact Mindy Sorber at msmsorber@gmail.com if interested or with any questions.

Student Directories Are Here
The 2017 - 2018 Student Directory is available and printed ahead of schedule. Pre-ordered directories will be delivered to Homerooms this week. You can also buy one for $10 at the TEMS School Store.
For questions on orders, contact Claudette McCarron (mccarronlondon@yahoo.com). It takes a collaborative effort to put the directory of over 1100+ students together. Special thanks to: Claudette McCarron for the design/layout and fulfilling orders; Jen Carroll for advertising sales; Principal Phillips, Lea Craley and Susan Denisevicz; Kathy Meaney, Lisa Munroe, Angella Min,  Shivani Murty, Kelly Graver, Cindy Yu, Mindy Sorber, Savi Vaidhyanathan, and Jen Bachman  for their contributions. Thank you to parents for buying a directory and helping the PTO raise money which benefits TEMS and students.
