COANR Recognizes Outstanding Graduating Students


The College of Agriculture and Natural Resources is proud to recognize its Spring 2025 outstanding graduate and undergraduate students from each department.

Shooting for Scholarships Clay Shoot Raises Funds for Student Scholarships


The College of Agriculture and Natural Resources, in partnership with the Mayfield College of Engineering, hosted the inaugural Shooting for Scholarships Clay Shoot on May 2 in Boerne, TX. The event welcomed 15 teams and a total of 60 participants, raising over $10,000 to support student scholarships.


This successful event would not have been possible without the efforts of COANR alumna Melissa Haberstroh and her husband Jeff, a member of the Mayfield COE Advisory Board.

Commencement


The College of Agriculture and Natural Resources ceremony will be held along with the College of Education on Friday, May 16th, at 6:00 PM.

The Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board has approved a new Master of Agriculture in Animal Production program. The program will be offered on the Stephenville campus beginning Fall 2025.

COANR Students Excel at TFB Collegiate Discussion Meet with Schlimgen Taking Top Honors

Tarleton State students excelled at the Texas Farm Bureau's 2025 Collegiate Discussion Meet. Ag Communications major, Aubrey Schlimgen, won the competition, earning a $2,500 prize. Kaitlyn Collins and Preslee Richmond were also finalists, highlighting the College's strong presence.

ACOM 4325: Agricultural Media Convergence

Students in this class have a hands-on role in the planning of the Pursuit of Purple Prospect Show. This course applies skills learned in prior courses to the design, planning, management and delivery of agricultural events.
