Description:
The Watershed Institute, Raritan Headwaters, Lower Raritan Watershed Partnership, NY/NJ Baykeeper, and Duke Farms invite you to celebrate this important milestone. On the day of the 50th anniversary of the Clean Water Act, we will reflect on the past and envision the future.

The event will feature a guest speaker from NJDEP, a presentation on how the Clean Water Act has influenced policies and efforts in NJ specifically, and roundtable opportunities for guests to discuss key water-related issues today. There will also be the opportunity to join one of two post-event field trips. Tour the beautiful Duke Farms property on a bike or paddle down the D&R canal! Morning refreshments will be offered to guests.

Optional Field Trips
PADDLE TRIP - w/lunch

Time: 1:15 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Capacity: 24

Paddle down the D&R Canal in 3 -person canoes. Discuss the history of local waterways like the Millstone River and discover the issues threatening waterways in this region of NJ.

Boxed lunches will be provided upon arrival to the paddling site. The paddle trip is suitable for beginners and will not exceed 2.5 hours in length.

BIKE TOUR - no lunch

Time: 1:45 p.m.

Capacity: 15

Learn about the history and mission of Duke Farms while exploring its grounds with Duke Farms staff.

Bikes will be offered to the registrants. There are a couple of available handicapped spots for this tour in a golf cart which will follow the bike group. Please contact Pri Oliveira ([email protected]) if you require this accommodation.
