"When I walked by the bulletin board outside the CATV office in late 2011, I noticed a sign that said 'CATV wants YOU to produce!' and below that it said that if you had an idea for a tv program, CATV would help you produce it. I had always been interested in photography and movies, so I went inside and said I didn't have an idea for a TV show, but if they taught me how to produce programs, perhaps I could help someone with their project(s). The staff at CATV indeed taught me how to use their cameras and how to edit footage, and then told me to go out and film something. The first thing I filmed for airing was a short program about 'Machine Madness' at the Montshire Museum of Science, and I haven't looked back since! I have produced two music series, a local history series, a number of community events and workshops, and I have just begun a new program called 'Three-Minute Tales' – stories by residents of the Upper Valley including Adam Sorscher (Anonymous Coffeehouse), Peg Allen (Junction Fiber Mill), and Pat Autilio.
Do you have a 3-minute story you'd like to tell about something interesting in your life? Contact CATV at info@catv8.org and we'll set something up!"
CATV thanks and salutes Barbara for her filmmaking capturing life in the Upper Valley. Learn how you can produce at CATV!
