The threat of climate change has led to interesting and extreme solutions for our toughest problems. One solution to the carbon crisis? Create circular fuel.

First, generate hydrogen from renewable energy. Then, harvest waste carbon dioxide. Finally, feed these two gases to a microorganism found in hot springs and deep undersea well vents to produce renewable natural gas and water.

American Made Solar Prize

CCIA is proud to be a Connector for the American Made Solar Prize!

The American-Made Solar Prize is a $3 million prize competition designed to revitalize U.S. solar manufacturing through a series of contests and the development of a diverse and powerful support network that leverages national laboratories, energy incubators, and other resources across the country.

Individuals or companies interested in learning more about the prize and how to apply, please contact Haley Whittaker . The program accepts a wide variety of Applications close December 10th.

New Venture Challenge 12

The New Venture Challenge  (NVC) has just kicked off for it's twelfth year allowing startup teams comprised of students, staff, faculty paired with community members to compete for over $100,000 in funding.
This will be a great night to meet other mentors, our leadership team as well as a chance to help us refine our NVC 12 mentorship process.

We will be hosting a mentor matching night for NVC 12 teams on  January 29th.  Also, don't forget to save the date for the NVC Championships live at the Boulder Theater on  April 7th

The National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) is seeking applicants for its 2020 Executive Energy Leadership Program—Energy Execs.

Energy Execs is a nationally renowned program that provides non-technical business, governmental, and community leaders an opportunity to learn about advanced energy technologies, analytical tools, and financing to guide their organizations and communities in energy-related decisions and planning. Leaders in the private sector, communities, non-profits, and government are eligible to participate in the program.

Nominations for the 2020 Manufacturing Awards Open
Nominations are now open for the 2020 Colorado Manufacturing Awards!

The Energy Manufacturer of the Year recognizes outstanding local manufacturing, design and engineering, or supply-chain management in Colorado’s multi-faceted energy economy

Three finalists will be selected in January 2020 and one winner will be announced April 2 in Denver, Colorado, at the 2020 CMA gala.

Western Energy and Water Forum
January 22-25, 2019

The Colorado Energy & Water Institute at Steamboat was founded in 2017 to bring together a diverse community of North American industry, policy, nonprofit and academic leaders in an intentionally intimate setting to engage in a meaningful conversation about our energy and water future. With the foundation of our successful inaugural event, the 2020 Western Energy & Water Forum will bring together no more than 150 invitation-only participants, all of whom will have unmatched expertise in a particular area of energy and water. 

21st Century Energy Transition Symposium

The four  Collaboratory  partners will once again co-host the 21st Century Energy Transition Symposium

Since 2007 the Colorado Energy Research Collaboratory has been a unique and successful energy research partnership between University of Colorado Boulder, Colorado School of Mines, Colorado State University and NREL.
