Remembering Dr. Peter Dempsey (1940 - 2022)

HYS Board Member for 10+ years and former HYS Board President

On Monday, Amy Chung and I attended the Funeral Liturgy for Pete Dempsey, retired radiologist, amateur trumpeter, and loyal HYS board member for many years. As I approached the church, I passed by this beautiful mosaic, which seemed to be written with Pete in mind. In case it is hard to read, the words are:

Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness, Gentleness, Self Control, Wisdom, Understanding, Courage, Humility, Prudence, Generosity, Honesty; Reach for the Stars: Dream, Inspire, Create, Innovate. The words describe Pete so well and can be aspirations for all of us. Let’s go beyond The Planets, and reach for the Stars!
