Rev. Martha Anderson to serve as
Dr. Cheryl Anderson's Chief of Staff at UCSD
The Rev. Martha Anderson has accepted a new position as the Chief of Staff for the Dr. Cheryl Anderson, Dean of the Herbert Wertheim School of Public Health and Human Longevity Science at UCSD. Rev. Martha's ministry at St. Peter's continues as a part time priest.

I was called to St. Peter's over six years ago and have been delighted and privileged to serve as your Associate Rector. God has now called me serve God in a new way, one which amplifies my call to ordained ministry. After much discernment and prayer, I have accepted the position of Chief of Staff to Dr. Cheryl Anderson, Dean of the Herbert Wertheim School of Public Health and Human Longevity Science at UCSD. This position will allow my legal experience and theological training to converge and serve God in a new capacity. The school's commitment to justice in health as reflected in its policies and programs resonates with my sense of vocation as a priest by, among other things, developing an inclusive community, creating an anti-racist environment, and furthering wellness for all people.” said Anderson

Rev. Martha's last weekend as the Associate Rector at St Peter's in Del Mar will be November 1. Although Rev. Martha will no longer be Associate Rector, she will still officiate at weekday worship services and participate in the Sacred Ground journey.
Christ Church Calls Rev. Regan Schutz
Christ Church in Coranado has called the Rev. Regan Schutz as their new rector. Rev. Schutz plans to arrive mid-November, along with her husband Paul and two daughters Cecilia and Genevieve, to take up residence in the Christ Church rectory.

“I am overjoyed to be called to serve as the next rector of Christ Church Coronado! The Holy Spirit’s presence in this discernment process has been profound, and I am grateful to the Call Committee and to the Vestry for their professionalism in allowing the revelation of God’s dream for all of us to unfold with such grace. Indeed, discernment requires patience and prayer, especially amid the anxieties and changing landscape of 2020. Yet at every step in this journey, I have felt a palpable call to serve God and the body of Christ at Christ Church Coronado. I am so excited to get to know you: to hear your stories of joy and struggle and to learn about God at work in your life!” writes Rev. Schutz. Read More
Delegate Training for Convention
For the first time in the history of the Episcopal Diocese of San Diego, Diocesan Convention will be held completely online. Utilizing a new event management platform, Whova, delegates and visitors can look forward to a clear agenda, ways of connecting with each other, exhibitor space, workshops, and more. Due to the technological hurdles of a virtual convention, we are asking that ALL delegates attend one of three online training sessions to prepare for convention. Each session will have an overview of the Whova platform, voting, budget, and more. Register at conventionEDSD.org
