In a Special General Conference on 7-8 November 2018, registered Clergy and Lay Delegates voted in favor of the motion to adopt a 10% assessment rate for affiliated churches.

The General Conference adopt a 10% Assessment rate for Affiliated Churches, with present deductions remaining intact.

  • Opposed

The Result
The motion to adopt a 10% Assessment rate for Affiliated Churches, with present deductions remaining intact, received a vote of “In Favor” from 72 out of 90 (80%) Clergy Delegates , and 70 out of 85 (82.35%) Lay Delegates .

Eighteen (18) Clergy Delegates out of 90 (20%) “Opposed” the motion, and 15 Lay Delegates out of 85 (17.65%) “Opposed” the motion.

Voting Period
7 November 2018 at 6:00 am ET / 11:00 GMT through 9 November at 6:00 am ET / 11:00 GMT.

Total number of Delegates who registered to vote:
  • 186 - Clergy House
  • 143 - Lay House
Total number who voted: 175

There were no invalid votes.

The Timeline
The new Assessment rate will begin 1 January 2019.
