City Operations
Committee of the Whole Meeting August 9 at 6:30pm
This meeting will be held jointly with the Shaker Heights City Council with special guests from the Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District to further discuss the future of Horseshoe Lake and the corresponding dams. The meeting will be held at the Cleveland Heights Community Center and will be open to the public. Written questions may be submitted during the meeting. This Week at Cain Park
Cleveland’s own Dancing Wheels performs A Midsummer Night’s Dream in dance on August 6. Six powerhouse Cleveland actors perform Leading Ladies on Stage August 7. Grammy winner Paula Cole takes the stage on August 8 and Nashville’s hottest new star, Miko Marks, debuts on August 12. Cedar-Lee-Meadowbrook Project Community Meeting August 11
The City of Cleveland Heights along with its development partners, Flaherty & Collins and City Architecture, are hosting a Cedar-Lee-Meadowbrook project open house regarding public spaces and connectivity on August 11 in the Atrium of City Hall at 6pm. This is a date change from the originally scheduled August 12 meeting.
COVID-19 Information & Resources
Vaccinated & Unvaccinated Should Wear Face Masks Indoors
As of July 27, the CDC recommends both vaccinated and unvaccinated individuals wear face masks in workplaces, public buildings, and stores in counties with substantial or high spread rates, which includes Cuyahoga County. The delta variant is likely driving the surge in new COVID-19 cases.

Masks Mandatory Inside Heights Libraries
Employees and visitors over the age of 2 need to wear face masks while inside any Heights Library branch. The change in mask policy by Heights Library was prompted by the rise of the Delta variant of COVID-19. The policy about use of computers, study rooms and time spent in the library remains unchanged.

Noble Gardeners’ Market Begins August 7
Stop by the Noble-Roanoke Park this Saturday from 10am to 12 noon to buy your neighbors’ vegetables, fruits and flowers. All the produce sold is grown in backyards or community gardens. You can also admire the beautiful new mural that looks over the Park one block north of Monticello. Please bring small bills and lots of coins. Parking is free at street meters. Blood Drive August 7 at Cleveland Heights Community Center
The American Red Cross is holding a Blood Drive on August 7 (9am-3pm) at the Cleveland Heights Community Center (1 Monticello Blvd.). There will be two other blood drive dates later in August at Church of the Saviour. To sign up, please visit the American Red Cross website or call 1-800-RED-CROSS. Candidates Forum on August 12 for Mayoral Primary
Candidates for the September 14 Primary Election (Barbara Danforth, Melody Joy Hart and Kahlil Seren) will present brief statements and answer written questions from the audience on August 12, 7-9pm, at the Cleveland Heights Community Center. This forum is presented by the Greater Cleveland Heights Chapter of the League of Women Voters, FutureHeights and Heights Libraries.
**Due to the recent changes in Covid, the Leadership team of the Cleveland Heights -University Heights chapter of the League of Women Voters for Greater Cleveland just met and made the decision to stream and record the August 12th Cleveland Heights mayoral candidate forum on Youtube Live instead of holding an in-person event with an audience. The forum will be streamed on YouTube Live at the same date and time, August 12th, 7-9pm.** 
 
Drive-Through Mobile Pantry at First Baptist Church August 7
The Greater Cleveland Food Bank will provide produce and dairy on Saturday, August 7 at First Baptist Church (3630 Fairmount Blvd.) Distribution will be a drive-through only event from 10am to 12 noon. Those interested are asked to bring a valid ID and to have their car trunk space cleaned out in advance. Rain or shine.
 
Cedar Fairmount Summer Fun
The district continues to celebrate summer with Free Music and Family Fun Thursdays on August 12 from 7 to 8:30pm in the Firestone parking lot with Blue Lunch, an architectural walking tour of the district (meet Ken Goldberg in front of Chipotle), children’s games and activities at the Cleveland Heights Church, the Heights Library Book Bike, and “Make It.
