Mayor Seren Selects Joseph E. Sinnott as First City Administrator
Mayor Kahlil Seren has appointed Joseph E. Sinnott for the position of City Administrator. Joe is the former three-term Mayor of the City of Erie, the fourth-largest city in Pennsylvania. He is an attorney who graduated from Case Western Reserve University School of Law and is a former resident of Cleveland Heights.
 
The City Administrator position was created as part of Cleveland Heights’ transition to a strong-mayor form of government, and Joe would be the first person to fill this role. Per Cleveland Heights’ City Charter, Joe’s appointment is not complete until City Council votes on his selection.

City Council to Interview Joe Sinnott
Cleveland Heights City Council will hold a Council Committee of the Whole meeting on Monday, March 14, 2022, at 7:00 pm to interview Joseph E. Sinnott for the position of City Administrator. The meeting will be streamed live on the City’s YouTube channel; a recording of the meeting will be posted following its conclusion. City Council is currently scheduled to consider Joe’s appointment for approval at its next regularly scheduled meeting, Monday, March 21, 2022, at 7:30 pm, following its Committee of the Whole meeting at 6:30 pm.

“Amazing Women of Cleveland Heights” Event, March 28
Cleveland Heights City Council will commemorate Women’s History Month with an “Amazing Women of Cleveland Heights” special meeting on Monday, March 28, 2022, at 7:30 pm in the Council Chamber at City Hall. City Council will choose five women to feature at the meeting, and all nominees will be recognized at the meeting.
 
Please nominate an exceptional Cleveland Heights woman by filling out an online form here. Nominations must be received by March 21, 2022, and current Cleveland Heights City Council members are not eligible for nomination.

Next “Meet Your Police” to be held March 17, 6:00-8:00 pm
Meet your Police takes place on the first and third Thursdays of each month from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. The next Meet Your Police will be held outside the Police Department on the Lower Level of City Hall, 40 Severance Circle. Residents are encouraged to attend and speak with an officer about any questions they have or any concerns or complaints in their neighborhoods.

Municipal Income Tax Help is Available
The Regional Income Tax Agency (RITA) collects municipal income taxes for Cleveland Heights and is now offering online filing, file by mail, and drop-off services for all of your tax documents. RITA may be reached by phone at (800) 860-7482 and will extend its call center hours beginning March 21, 2022. If you need tax preparation help, you may qualify for free assistance through the EITC Coalition. Go to refundohio.org to see if you are eligible and to schedule an appointment. Register for T-Ball/Baseball for Children 3-6-Years Old
Registration is now open for Jump Start Sports Cleveland Heights T-Birds and Rookie League Baseball programs. T-Birds is an introductory T-Ball program for 3- and 4-year-old boys and girls. Rookie League Baseball introduces 5- and 6-year-old boys and girls to hitting a coach-pitched baseball, basic situational fielding, and base running.
