City Operations
The next Council Committee of the Whole meeting will be held in person at City Hall on Monday, November 22 at 7pm. There will also be a Finance Committee meeting at 6pm and a special Council meeting at 7:30pm. The agendas can be found on the City’s website. Welcome to Councilperson Josie Moore
Josie Moore, who won the election to fill the seat vacated by Mary Dunbar, was sworn in on November 15 to complete the remaining two years of the term.
 
City Hall Offices Closed
In observance of the Thanksgiving holidays on November 25 and November 26, City Hall offices are closed. Refuse/recycling collection will be delayed by one day following Thanksgiving: Thursday pickup will be on Friday, and Friday pickup will be on Saturday.
 
Seeking Applicants for Boards and Commissions
City Council regularly seeks interested residents to serve on its boards and commissions. If there is an area of expertise, interest or experience you’d be willing to share, please fill out the application. If you have questions about the application process, please call 216-291-3737. A complete list of all the boards and commissions that advise and assist the City Council in setting City policy can be found online.

Vax-2-School Lottery Deadline
Ohio residents from 5-25 years of age who have received at least one dose of the coronavirus vaccine are eligible to win one of 150 $10,000 scholarships or one of $100,000 grand prize scholarships in the lottery drawing. Those eligible can enter the lottery program online at ohiovax2school.com or by calling 833-427-5634. Enroll by 11:59pm on Sunday, November 21 to be eligible for all the drawings. Vaccine appointments can be scheduled by visiting gettheshot.coronavirus.ohio.gov.

NOPEC Letters Mailed to Residents
Existing and newly eligible residents and small businesses in NOPEC member communities are receiving natural gas enrollment letters in the mail. Unless you choose to opt out, you’ll receive exclusive utility rates negotiated specifically for NOPEC customers. The enrollment period runs through December 13 for the contract beginning January 2022 through June 2023. Learn more on the NOPEC website.
 
Legal Aid Brief Advice Clinics Resume
Legal Aid continues to provide services in solving legal problems that relate to family, health, housing, work or money issues. Intake is open 24/7 online and by calling 888-817-3777 during business hours. For the first time since the pandemic began, their in-person Brief Advice Clinics have resumed by appointment only; appointments open up two weeks before each clinic date.

PTA Clothing Drive
The CH-UH PTA Council is hosting a clothing drive to support Afghan families who have been resettled in the Cleveland area. Donation boxes are available at school buildings until November 22. In addition to clothing, there is a list of other items that would be greatly appreciated.
