cliktikClick It or Ticket Campaign Underway!

To help keep drivers and passengers safe, the Burlingame Police Department is reminding motorists to Click It or Ticket. The national seat belt campaign will take place through June 3, concurrent with the busy travel season.

The Burlingame Police Department will deploy additional officers during the two-week campaign on special traffic patrols specifically to stop and ticket both drivers and passengers for failing to use the vehicle's safety belt restraints.  This will also include drivers who fail to secure children in the proper child restraint seats.  The Burlingame Police Department will show zero tolerance.  Learn more about this campaign by clicking here

Your recycling questions answered!

Can those plastic basket containers that the strawberries come in (at the farmer's market), go in the recycling bin?
If they have the chasing arrows (recycling symbol) and are numbered 1-7, then yes.

If I have a plastic item, and I don't know if it's recyclable, is it best to throw it in the blue recycling bin or the regular trash bin?
It is best to put it in the trash.

What can I do with large plastic wrap, the ones used for packaging bulky materials or to cover the ground during painting?
If it is clean plastic film, you can drop it off at the Shoreway Environmental Center at 333 Shoreway Rd. San Carlos or any grocery store.  If it is soiled, it cannot be recycled and must go into the garbage.

Send your recycling questions to  [email protected] . Find past questions and answers  here ; and an excellent resource for what goes in what bin  here .
