We set out to do some advanced field studies with a model home project in beautiful Cedar River Village near Shanty Creek. This project is also triggering new construction projects for our builder customers in the Shanty Creek area, an underdeveloped market. Built in less than six months, this home utilizes materials that require less labor to build and less energy to maintain. Quality details are seen throughout the home, from architectural, insulated garage doors to cherry accents in the kitchen and living area. Insulated concrete blocks form a dry, warm foundation. Exterior products include engineered factory-painted siding, soffits and fascia, panels of fabricated stonework, composite decking and powder coated railing. The interior features vinyl plank floors, cabinetry, trim and shelves that look custom. We used low maintenance, energy-efficient materials and construction methods and learned a lot. The result is a beautiful, versatile, low-maintenance home.
