This week, the No Hate Tour visited Cocoa High School and Palm Bay Magnet High School. The No Hate Tour is an educational program that uses the energy and excitement of action sports to deliver critical bullying prevention tools, techniques, and information to students in a relatable, peer-to-peer manner.
Some of the world's top BMX stars perform on high school campuses and speak to the students about their own experiences with bullying, overcoming obstacles, being an ally, inclusivity, kindness, surrounding yourself with positive influences, problem-solving, mental health awareness, and other important subjects that really resonate with teens.

Stone Magnet Middle Students Talk to Astronaut on the ISS |  | |
Through the ARISS project, students from Stone Magnet Middle School were able to talk live with Astronaut Stephen Bowen and ask him questions via Amateur Radio while he was on board the International Space Station (ISS). Bowen launched to the ISS as part of NASA’s SpaceX Crew-6 mission aboard a SpaceX Crew Dragon spacecraft on March 2.
As Bowen made his orbit, the students had a 10-minute window to ask him questions about life in space.
The scheduled contact was achieved through the ARISS project and the goals for ARISS include inspiring an interest in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) subjects and in STEM careers among young people; provide an educational opportunity for students, teachers and the general public to learn about space exploration, space technologies and satellite communications; provide an educational opportunity for students, teachers and the general public to learn about wireless technology and radio science through Amateur Radio; provide crew with another means to directly interact with a larger community outside the ISS, including friends and family.

Palm Bay Magnet High School Renames Stadium | On March 27, DC Roofing and Palm Bay Magnet HS celebrated the renaming of the school’s stadium with a ribbon cutting. The stadium will now be known for the next three years as 'DC Roofing Stadium' in an advertising deal worth $110,000. | | | |

Brevard Public Schools is excited to welcome Yvette Cruz to the Government & Community Relations Team at BPS. Yvette joins the team as the Marketing & Outreach Supervisor, following the retirement of Debra Foley who held the position for nearly 10 years.
Yvette brings over 10 years of marketing and sales experience, including event planning, marketing, social media, advertising, branding, and client relations. She received a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Florida International University and a master’s degree in marketing from Southern New Hampshire University.
In her new role, Yvette will be managing sponsorships and advertising for the district as well as managing the Partners in Education (PIE) Program. She will also assist with various marketing programs and campaigns for BPS, including several special events held throughout the school year. Of her joining BPS, she says, “I am beyond excited and honored to take this position to new heights and serve the students, parents, and staff of Brevard Public Schools.”
Yvette is a proud US Air Force wife and mother of two. In her spare time, she loves baking and going on family adventures.
