U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services Issues New Form I-9 For Employment

Eligibility Verification

U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) issued a new version of its Form I-9 on January 20, 2025, which has a May 31, 2027 expiration date.

Although previous versions of the Form I-9 remain valid until their stated expiration dates, employers should immediately begin using this new version for all new hires, re-hires, and re-verifications. Previously completed Form I-9s need not be redone as a result of USCIS issuing the new version.
