CLIENT SPOTLIGHT

Rozwaduckie Design Celebrates 1 Year in Business

After nearly three decades in the design industry, Tony Rozwadowski was seeking a fresh start — and Rozwaduckie Design was born. Wanting to serve existing clients loyally, Tony launched his business to provide graphic design services for small businesses, nonprofits, and community events. “The first year was a challenge to get myself out there as a new presence,” Tony shared. “But it was nice to know that people in the community had my back.” Specializing in everything from logos/branding and websites to event support and advertising, Tony’s work combines strategic thinking with artistic flair — making him a trusted creative partner for businesses throughout Culpeper and beyond.

Tony credits the SBDC and his advisor Rosi Beachy for helping him start on solid ground. “Rosi helped me make sure that I had everything established on the operations side. It gave me peace of mind that I could do this on my own,” he said. He also participated in the 2025 Culpeper Competes cohort, which provided an extra boost of confidence and clarity. “That information was helpful and accurate, and that process assured me that I was on the right track, which I'm really grateful for.”

Since celebrating one year in business in July, Tony is focused on growth looking ahead. “My goal is to be the go-to designer in the Culpeper area, and even expand my footprint outside of Culpeper” he said.

"My experience with the SBDC assured me I was doing everything right so far - I didn't have many hiccups my first year in business, and understanding those baseline considerations that they helped walk me through was key."

- Antony Rozwadowski, Owner

Your confidential response to the Small Business Credit Survey will help the Federal Reserve share vital information on the current business climate. HUBZone Eligibility

When exploring the world of SBA socioeconomic programs, the Historically Underutilized Business Zone (HUBZone) Program isn’t always the first program on a business’ radar. Most often, the areas that are designated as HUBZones fall into either inner city or rural areas that are low-income, underutilized, and underdeveloped, but they may also be Qualified Disaster Areas and Governor’s Designated Areas. The program gives HUBZone participants benefits in multiple federal government contracting situations in an effort to revitalize historically underutilized business zones through increased employment opportunities, investments, and economic development.

SMALL BUSINESS NEWS

Guard Against Identity Theft

The Internal Revenue Service and the Security Summit partners are closing out the fifth and final week of the “Protect Your Clients; Protect Yourself” awareness series by reminding people to stay vigilant and strengthen safeguards to protect against identity theft. In the first half of the year there were nearly 300 data breaches reported impacting as many as 250,000 clients.

Here are some common schemes and scams:

  • Fake “new client” schemes: Fraudsters pose as prospective clients, sending malicious attachments or links to steal login credentials or install malware.
  • Phishing emails: Sent to encourage sharing sensitive information, such as passwords, Social Security numbers, Central Authorization File information or into clicking harmful links.
  • Other scams: Calls, texts, fake printed correspondence and misleading social media posts to gain access to client data.
  • Social media scams: Circulating inaccurate or misleading tax information.
