CliftonStrengths Late August and September Workshops
CliftonStrengths is an online assessment tool used to discover and develop your greatest talents. Operated by Gallup, the well-known global analytics and advice firm, this 177-question assessment measures your natural patterns of thinking, feeling and behaving and categorizes them into the 34 CliftonStrengths themes.

Join our September workshops below:

Introduction to CliftonStrengths | August 31 and September 1 from 6:30-8:30 p.m.
This session will provide an introduction to CliftonStrengths and will help you understand and focus on what β€œstrengths” are, the language of CliftonStrengths, and the various ways in which CliftonStrengths help us navigate our lives.

Being of Service Through Your Strengths | September 8 from 6:30-8:30 p.m.
Relationships are living, growing organisms. They require constant nurturing to thrive, and without focused attention, they can die. This session will help you become more intentional about your relationships and commit to lasting action. In this session you will develop a personal mission statement and think about how you can work more effectively by partnering with others who have complementary themes of talent and strength.

Upcoming One-Time Leadership Workshops
DiSC Behavior Styles on September 13 at 4:30 p.m.
The most successful leaders are keenly self-aware and have the ability to effectively adjust their styles to meet the demands of their different roles. DiSC profiles help us identify a leader's preferred behavioral style; think of it as a road map showing how a leader is likely to show up in different situations. We can predict how they tend to do things, such as lead others, make decisions, and communicate.

Registration required at go.ncsu.edu/learntolead.

Building Connection and Community on September 23 at 6 p.m.
In a recent survey, 79% of Gen Z respondents reported feeling lonely, isolated, left out and without companionship. In a world where we are more digitally connected than ever, our sense of human and authentic connection is at an all time low. In this workshop, we will explore how leaders can cultivate a sense of community, build connections, and make the world feel a little less lonely.

Presenter: Brian Mathis, M.A., Associate Director, Student Leadership and Engagement

Registration required at go.ncsu.edu/learntolead.
Civic and Community Engagement
Pack the Polls Ambassadors Applications Open
Are you passionate about voting and elections? Join the Pack the Polls Ambassador Program by applying by September 10.

The Pack the Polls Ambassador program is a cohort of motivated students who present, table, and engage with the student body directly about the electoral process. Ambassadors visit classrooms, set up tables in Talley Student Union, and have conversations with members of the NC State community as a form of direct advocacy and information sharing. This experience aims to develop ambassadors into better leaders by sharpening their skills and growing their network.

Interest for the Alternative Service Break Program
We're excited to begin planning for 2021-2022 Alternative Service Break experiences!

The Alternative Service Break (ASB) program is a unique learning experience in which students engage in direct service to a community while being immersed in the culture. Teams are led by student team-leaders and accompanied by faculty or staff advisors.

Each team spends extensive time prior to travel doing team-building, planning for their experience, and studying the scope of their impact in the communities they will engage with. Throughout their travels, team members participate in a variety of cultural, educational, recreational, and reflective activities to enhance their service experience.
