Climate Talks Updates: The Hard Work at COP21 Began This Week
After years of faltering negotiations, the United Nations Conference on Climate Change is expected to produce a landmark agreement during the next two weeks. But it remains to be seen whether the gathering of 150 world leaders near Paris will achieve the target of limiting rising global temperatures to no more than 2 degrees Celsius above pre-industrial levels this century. VW Sustainability Reports May Have Hinted at Problems
Research suggests there may have been hints of the still-unfolding diesel emissions scandal at Volkswagen AG hidden in corporate sustainability reports. The automaker is facing charges that it used software to mask the true emissions of its diesel cars. But that air pollution was largely absent from recent sustainability disclosures in which the company vowed to become "the world's most environmentally compatible automaker." Campbell Institute Report Highlights Five Ways to Keep Contractors Safe
The Campbell Institute at the National Safety Council in a new report offers a safety roadmap for employers to effectively handle the complexities of contractor management. The temporary and contract worker industry has added more U.S. jobs in the last three years than any other industry. The rate of injuries among contract and temporary workers has paralleled the rise of the industry, as jobs often carry risks that workers are not trained to handle. A Technical or Bachelor's Degree in EHS, engineering, science, nursing or closely related discipline is desired or equivalent technical experience plus demonstrated competence. 5+ years of desired EHS and/or operational experience is also required. A post-graduate education / degree are desired, and may contribute towards the desired years of experience. Professional certification(s) a plus.

Keurig Green Mountain, formerly Green Mountain Coffee Roasters, is a publicly traded specialty coffee and coffeemaker company founded in 1981 and headquartered in the U.S. It sources, produces, and sells coffee, hot cocoa, teas, and other beverages under various brands in portion packs for its Keurig brewing systems. They are looking for an EHS Director. As the Director of Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS), you will lead the EHS programs across our North American Hot Manufacturing facilities. You will also be responsible for the environmental, occupational health and safety performance and ensuring alignment to world class EHS standards. You will be expected to work in a matrix organization and be a transformational leader. Key responsibilities include ensuring all EHS processes and procedures are implemented and standardized across our manufacturing network, working with Engineering to participate in facilities and equipment design and interpreting the business impact of EHS laws, standards, or regulatory requirements and provide management systems to ensure compliance and overseeing audits across the network. Bachelor's degree in environment, safety, business, engineering, or equivalent field is required but an advanced degree is preferred. 10+ years of leadership experience in a manufacturing organization, with a mix of manufacturing, safety and/ or engineering assignments also required along with experience managing an EHS organization. ASP, CSP, CIH, PE, CHMM a plus.

International Flavors & Fragrances is a major producer of flavors and fragrances headquartered in New York City. IFF has creative, sales, and manufacturing facilities in 29 different countries and is a member of the S&P 500 Index. They are looking for an EHS Manager. The ideal candidate will manage and contribute to the generation of an annual sustainability report in line with company branding and public relations guidelines. S/he will report delivered on time and on budget and create project plan, coordinate activities between internal and external stakeholders, coordinate weekly status report meetings and related projects such as posting the report on on iff.com, iffConnect, customer mailings and powerpoints, internal/external distribution, video, etc. You will also work closely with the sustainability communications manger to develop communications to stakeholders (Customers, employees, suppliers, investors, etc). A BS in sustainability or similar field is required but an MS in engineering, sustainability or a related field is preferred. Five years of experience in sustainability report development, GRI, verification, reporting indexes such as DJSI, CDP, Eco Vadis and employee engagement is also required.

They are looking for an HSE Director. The Health Safety Environmental (HSE) Director is responsible for implementation and management of HSE systems, processes, policies and tools for assigned division. S/he will also be responsible for driving ownership, responsibility and accountability for divisional HSE function while strategically planning and aligning activities across work crews. You will work in tandem with senior divisional leadership, corporate VP of HSE, and safety coordinators to recommend and implement corporate and divisional safety policy, make leadership aware of safety gaps and areas of concern with recommendations for corrective action, engages in the investigation of personal injury, near miss, first aid, general liability, auto, and environmental incidents ensuring that reporting and analysis is timely, accurate, and within company protocol. You will also trend and measure the HSE leading and lagging indicators and manage/support HSE to continuously drive a zero incident workplace. A Bachelor's Degree in Health Safety Environmental field is required along with 10+ years of HSE professional experience in the construction industry, including 5+ years in a leadership role. Must have working knowledge of HSE Management Systems and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel). Proficient knowledge of OSHA, MSHA, DOT, EPA and other applicable government agencies required.
