FIYA's Coaching Clinic & Fair Guest Speakers
Attention FIYA Community & Coaches,

The Fall 2019 Free FIYA Coaching Clinic & Fair is just 10 days away! From now until the day of our clinic, we are excited to unveil our lineup of guest speakers and panelists. As a reminder, this clinic is open to ALL Los Angeles youth coaches and those interested in coaching middle school sports, and we also encourage all current FIYA Fall/Winter sports coaches to attend.

Today, FIYA is excited and proud to announce 3 of your guest participants speaking at our August 17th Coaching Clinic & Fair:
Youth Flag Football
Nick has 20+ years of experience coaching middle school athletes. He has taken his football teams to the final four in Division 1 Flag-Football every year since FIYA was created.

Last football season he coached Visitation School to win the FIYA Division 1 Flag-Football championship!
Youth Volleyball
Eric has been coaching Volleyball for 15 years and has been a Certified Volleyball official for 10 years. He coaches to compete and his teams have always had a strong winning percentage. 

"We have been in many Championship games over the years. The last team I coached won the 2017 FIYA Championship with a perfect season of 11-0." Eric comes from a strong volleyball family having two daughters who also love the game and have played through college.
Youth Basketball / Cross Country
Mike has over 40 years of experience coaching elementary school, middle school, high school, and collegiate athletes in basketball, cross country, and track & field. His St. Jerome Girls basketball teams won 4 CYO titles within a 5-year span and has many league titles in all sports for middle school and high school.

Mike is also a certified trainer for Positive Coaching Alliance and a member of the CYO Hall of Fame.
NEW in FIYA for Fall 2019!
This Fall, in addition to our Boys 7v7 Flag-Football Leagues for Divisions 1, 2, and 3, we we also be offering GIRLS 5v5 Flag-Football for Divisions 1 and 2! Aside from the number of players on the field, same rules from our original Flag-Football league will apply to the Girls league.

We're really excited for this new addition and can't wait to see the girls tear up the field this Fall!

Similar to our Track & Field program, FIYA Cross Country meet registrations, times, and data will now be managed via! is a quick, organized way for coaches to keep track of meet entries, results, and visibly see athletes' progress and improvements throughout the season!

If you don't already have one, please be sure to create a FREE account on at least ONE WEEK prior to the first meet you'd like to participate in this season.

For the 2019-20 school year, each coach in FIYA will need to complete an online coaching certification through our partners, NAYS (National Association of Youth Sports). For coaches in FIYA sports leagues, each coach must present their NAYS coaching membership card to the officials prior to each game.

Upon completing the Coaching Certification with NAYS, our coaches will also have unlimited access to their online database full of coaching resources like webinars, trainings, newsletters, and other tools for the entire year!
