Need help setting up your clinical practice to include treating OUD patients? PCSS is here to help.


PCSS's PCSS-Implementation (PCSS-I) initiative is here to support clinicians and their clinical programs by implementing medications for opioid use disorder (MOUD) into your practice.
PCSS-I has clinical and implementation experts as PCSS-I Facilitators available to work with you and your team to develop strategies tailored specifically to support your needs. There is no cost to participate.

Specific components include:
  • Representatives from your team and PCSS experts meet online one hour per month to define your goals and help you overcome barriers to treating your patients by prescribing medications for opioid use disorder. PCSS experts typically work with your team between five and six months
  • Access to the PCSS-I Online Library (e.g., screening tools, clinical guidelines, business models), including 4 one-hour “SUD 101” webinars to educate all staff (administrative and clinical)– from the receptionist to CEO and all clinical personnel.
  • Access to other PCSS resources (pcssNOW.org), including clinical mentorship.
Clinical Site Characteristics
Clinical sites should be primary care or mental health programs that meet the following criteria:
  • Committed and motivated to provide care for patients with substance use disorders, including medications for the treatment of substance use disorders.
  • Able to identify at least one on-site “Champion” (i.e., leader/point person). The Champion will be the primary contact for the clinical site and will serve as the liaison with the PCSS-I External Facilitators. 
  • Agree to convene a multi-disciplinary PCSS-I Team (Clinical: MD, NP/PA, RN, MA, behavioral health, pharmacists, administrative: receptionist, billing coordinators, CEO/CFO) to participate in planning. 
  • Commit to participate in PCSS-I project for at least 6-months. 
  • Commit to participate in data collection activities as part of the evaluation of PCSS-I.
