Translational Science Day May 10th
The Einstein Montefiore ICTR will be hosting Translational Science Day, alongside CTSA leaders at NYU and Columbia, that will be held on May 10th, 9:00am – 5:00pm at NYU Langone Health.
Network with colleagues from across the tri-state CTSA consortium to learn about translational science and how to turn research barriers into breakthroughs. The event includes speakers from NIH-NCATS and CTSA hubs who will provide an overview of translational science, how it applies to research, and how to succeed as a translational scientist. Attendees will also work in teams to address translational research barriers in an interactive shark tank pitch-off for prizes. Event participants will also have an exclusive opportunity to apply for a future cross-CTSA pilot award to fund work related to translational science.
Click here to RSVP by April 17th. Please email sarah.lewis@einsteinmed.edu with any questions.

Introduction to R Programming and Tidyverse: One-Day Workshop
Join us for an immersive one-day introductory workshop on how to code in R, a powerful and popular open-source programming language and software environment specifically designed for statistical computing and graphics. R is widely used in biomedical research and other fields for the efficient handling, analysis, and visualization of large and heterogeneous data sets.
What to Expect
The session will start with an overview of R within the user-friendly R Studio environment. We will then dive into the language of Tidyverse – learning how to manipulate, explore, and summarize data using intuitive Tidyverse verbs such as filter and mutate. Attendees will then tackle programming challenges using real-world example data sets with guidance from instructors. The workshop will conclude with an introduction to ggplot2 that creates stunning data visualizations to communicate insights effectively.
Tuesday, May 14th 2024
9:30am – 4pm
Lubin Dining Hall
Who Should Attend:
Anyone in the Montefiore-Einstein community interested in learning how to code in R for data manipulation, basic data summaries, statistical analysis and data visualization.
Instructors:
Our workshop will be led by faculty from the Division of Biostatistics and ICTR BERD Core who have extensive experience in R programming and data analysis.
Registration:
Registration is full but click here to be added to the waitlist. A registration fee of $20 covers the cost of instruction, lunch, and R coding book.
