McKinsey Health Institute Report

A woman will spend an average of nine years in poor health, which affects her ability to be present and/or productive at home, in the workplace, and in the community and reduces her earning potential.

Analysts quantified this health gap in terms of disability-adjusted years and the extent to which this difference results from the structural and systemic barriers women face. Closing this health gap will be significant.

The Century Fund Report

With the arrival of the child care cliff, some states have stepped up to save the sector. Over the past 2 years these states have made a significant difference in bolstering the supply of child care in their states. The actions taken followed federal investments in child care during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic when federal funds reached more than 220,000 child care providers across the U S.

These states shared their experiences with authors Julie Kashen and Laurie Valle-Gutierrez.

In the United States, many of the issues addressed by the Convention are left to the jurisdiction of individual states, not the federal government. As a result, the protection and advancement of child rights varies from state to state.
