A Vision of Liberation
Dear Friends,

Horizons at Greene Street Friends School takes great pride in helping our scholars cultivate a sense of self and feeling of cultural pride, during Black History Month (BHM) and beyond. In our summer program, we accomplish this through the texts we read, the assemblies we host, and through you--our dedicated supporters. Your positive influence and investment in our mission helps to build a community where every Black child is seen, heard, valued and EMPOWERED.

This month we have been highlighting the historic contributions of Black Americans on our social media platforms, and we will continue to do so throughout the year.

Read on for more BHM resources that can be enjoyed 365 days out of the year, and for information about our spring offerings.

In solidarity,
Malia Neal
Executive Director
GSFS Librarian and Technology Coordinator Julia Copeland has curated a wonderful collection of read alouds and spotlights on influential figures in support of Black History Month.

Call for Student Volunteers/Interns
Planning for summer 2021 is well under way, and we can't wait to see all our scholars on campus this summer.

While social distancing guidelines will make this summer look different from the past, we are working hard to ensure that the fun and learning is amplified more than ever before.

For our program to run as smoothly as possible, we will need volunteers to help with an array of logistics. Interested in getting involved? Click on the button below to sign up! We accept volunteers as rising eighth graders.

Interested in supporting or volunteering in another way? Email Malia.
