Happy Summer!
Hybrid Board of Education Meetings Begin This Month!
The Board’s first hybrid meeting will be held on June 21, 2021 at 7:00 p.m. in the Homestead High School Performing Arts Center (PAC) and on Zoom. The Board and district leadership team look forward to returning to a meeting format that allows both in-person and virtual engagement from community members. This format will allow those viewing the meeting remotely the same level of participation as those attending in-person. Allowing for equal access to the meeting by all participants, regardless of in-person or virtual attendance, is a priority for the Board and we look forward to ensuring all members of the public are able to participate in meetings in their preferred format.
Summer Building Access & Contact Information
MTSD and Hunzinger Construction will be working hard during our 45 available days of summer to make sure buildings are where they need to be to welcome back our students in September. We know that a number of families enjoy accessing our sites - playgrounds, ball fields, etc., over the summer. New, inclusive and accessible playground equipment is being installed at each elementary school, so there will be no access to these playgrounds during the summer months. Please be aware that some other school campus areas may be temporarily off-limits as construction progresses.

Families who need assistance with completing registration tasks like submitting proof of residency, verifying a birth certificate, or scheduling a school tour, should schedule an appointment by emailing the school directly:

Homestead High School Construction Starts Soon!
Construction is beginning at Homestead soon! Parking lot and building access will be limited as of June 14. Families should email [email protected] or call the school office at 262-238-5900 to set up an appointment to connect with an administrator or the registrar if needed. School counselors can be reached via individual email if necessary. We appreciate your attention and adherence to any posted signage at Homestead as construction progresses.
Summer Meal Pick-Up
On April 20, 2021, the USDA approved the extension of the waiver allowing all students to eat breakfast and lunch at no cost, regardless of eligibility status, through June 30, 2022. The district has been working closely with Aramark, our food service provider, to offer meals to all students attending MTSD. We are pleased to be able to offer free school meal pick-up for all students under the age of 18 during the summer! Meals will be available for pick-up on Monday-Thursdays from 7:30 a.m. - 9:00 a.m. at Homestead High School. If you have any questions, please contact Molly Bortin at [email protected].
Technology Drop-Off Reminder
Summer is here! Please be aware that all students should have returned their MTSD-issued Chromebooks for the summer. If your student still has a Chromebook, Friday, June 11, is the last day to return it! Please bring both the Chromebook and charger to your student’s school. Missing some pieces? Click the link below to view costs for replacement items.
Register for the 2021-2022 School Year!
The online registration window is now open for currently enrolled students. Families should have received an email on June 1 with detailed instructions on completing online enrollment for the 2021-2022 school year. Please complete registration for your child(ren) prior to August 1 so that we may have ample time to complete planning and class assignments.
Five Questions With the Homestead Facility Coordinator
This past year, our Facility Coordinators have been instrumental in their engagement around our Referendum and Facilities Project, assisting in the planning for the additions and renovations at each school and working closely with Hunzinger Construction Company to ensure that the construction process goes as smoothly as possible.

With construction kicking off soon at Homestead, we are finishing our Facility Coordinator Feature with Mr. David Kautzman! Dave is a familiar and friendly face at Homestead, well known for developing an easy rapport with students and staff alike.
